There've been quite a few bouts of heavy rain here today. Decided to walk the dog anyway and gamble on making it back before the next shower. So we set off, me wearing three-quarter tracky bottoms, t-shirt and trainers. We were having a proper good yomp and making good time, maybe a mile or so from home, when it started spitting. Within 100 yards it was bouncing down so I cut the walk short and headed for the subway that goes under the roundabout to take us home. It was like a freezing cold river swirling round my ankles when I got to the bottom of the steps. Came out the other side of the subway and it was raining so hard I had to take my glasses off but couldn't open my eyes properly. Somebody going round the roundabout in a van bibbed their horn, I think it was in sympathy for the poor drowned woman stood waiting for a giant dog to finish peeing. Arrived home with chattering teeth, saturated to the skin and every step I took squeezed more water out of my squelching trainers. So I'm back in my pyjamas again.
