Saturday anticipates the highest TV ratings in history

I've never been to Southampton but a mate worked there for 6 months and said it was full of rats and rapists.

Suedey is in Southampton proper I think
Used to! Moved out into the forest a few years ago... I'm a COUNTRY lady these days...

I couldn't bear to live on the coast and not have a beach or a prom.

You may as well be in Birmingham.

There was also a lovely outdoor cinema in a park by the waterfront!
Harbour Lights? But it's not outdoors. I do like it though. I used to HOLD COURT with my book club ladies there back in the day but then one time the man who runs it was rude to us and we never went back. One of the LADIES picked a place in SHIRLEY (some of you may be familiar with that area) and that was the end of book club for me...

I want to say it was a pop up thing as part of a festival that week so probably not!

I think my view of Southampton is maybe swayed because I met so many nice and handsome Europeans teachers at the school and the weather was absolutely amazing that July but I really do look back on it fondly.

Also Winchester is just beside it and that was beautiful too. I loved going to the food market on the Sunday and then walking into the hills over the town.

This is what I feel so hard about Southampton. It’s just a port. Which makes it feel kinda grotty. I like some of the suburbs and I suppose the centre is ok for a night out or meal, but to live there? Nah…

Only ever go to Southampton for the Harbour Lights cinema. Not a fan of all the high rises they've built around it now. Very claustrophobic.

This chicken bacon and Mayo sandwich is mainly lettuce and Mayo but HO HUM

Anyway, we’ve got off the point. THANKS FOR COMING TO A PO POSTCODE EVEN THOUGH YOU HAD NO REALISATION IT WAS AND NOT MEETING UP WITH ME @Tisch and @Iguana.

Where are YOU then? Oh I’m very confused…

I wish the Harbour Lights was included in the Cineworld card package, as they own them (and especially as they’ve shut down the Cineworld in central Southampton now).

Same. I've not been to the new one near West Quay but apparently it's a DUMP (no surprise there).

I just feel so CIVILISED when I take a glass of wine in to watch the newest ALMODOVAR at Harbour Lights :disco:

Southern England destination rate

08 London
08 Southampton
09 Winchester
07 Oxford
07 Isle of Wight
09 Bristol

And I think those are all I've been to.

The Whiteley Cineworld is lovely. Definitely my favourite chain cinema ever.
