Saturday camps outside the pub

All of the paperwork arrived this morning for Mr F's operation later this month. My initial excitement was crushed instantly on discovering that I also have to self-isolate with him until his op. There wasn't just the one letter about it with his pre-assessment letter, operation letter and Covid test letter either. The surgeon's secretary had sent another letter separately going into a lot more detail that neither of us can set foot outside the garden, not even to walk the dog.

So everybody else is allowed to go to the pub and hairdresser from today onwards and I have to stay in the sodding house!

I had sausage, scrambled egg and passata on toast for dinner to console myself, first sausages I've eaten for a year and they were heavenly.

Oh Floppet that's shit :( When is the op?

If I lived near you I would totally come and walk Ridley.

22nd July. We're allowed out once on 20th July so I can drive him to the drivethrough Covid testing centre. Ridley's my main worry, I don't know anybody who can walk him for me. My mum has offered but he's far too strong for people not used to giant dogs and he takes the piss pulling if he thinks he'll get away with it, sometimes even with me. I'm going to ring the vet on Monday and ask how detrimental it will be for Ridley if he doesn't go for a walk for a couple of weeks. If it is going to harm him I'm willing to break the isolation every other day to take him. People usually cross over anyway when they see us coming :D

And how did it work? Did you need to wear a mask/face visor? And was small talk BANNED?

It was pretty LAISSEZ-FAIRE tbh. Didn’t wear a mask, the barber had is on but under his chin. Apart from a pair of gloves there was nothing different about it. Still got a shampoo and a hand massage, and everyone was merrily CHATTING AWAY.

So is anyone about tonight. I was going to put together a 25 song YouTube playlist of random stuff if anyone fancied in.

My friends wanna go out
But I can't CANCEL my PLANS

Seems quite appropriate as I'm still not ready to go out to be honest.

I have been to multiple pubs today and it was a bit meh

Whats wrong with it. Some of us like being outside.
Well they're loud and annoying and they don't just do it on weekends but also school nights and sometimes stay out late when I have to be up early the next day for work.

I’ve just got back from the pub which was delightful, albeit that it was a friend’s pub so a private party reopening and not all that crazy.

I was most excited about eating a meal I hadn’t prepared myself or by Mr Sheena. It’s made me desperate to go out for a roast tomorrow now.

Going to a bar doesn't interest me at all. But I am looking forward to eating a meal and not having to tidy up afterwards.

I didn’t think I have missed the pub that much and it was more people I missed- and tonight proved it. The pub was basically 70 percent people I know and it was just wonderful to bump into people. That’s the true joy of it for me.

I am so jealous. I think my first port of call is going to be a lovely meal out with a bottle of wine. I actually can not WAIT. Imagine not having to cook!

I almost caved and had meat for the first time this year but resisted. Something about lockdown has made me desperate for it. And I thought as I wasn’t cooking myself (imagine indeed!) I could allow it, but in the end stuck with the vegan burger.

Did you have to book? Was it all a bit meh because of the social distance?

I’m in London just per chance so went out in Notting Hill for a bit and it was a bit lively but then went to a party east and it just felt a bit meh so came home and did some ket

Fuck I missed half the points in that. No booking required, but bars are trying varying degrees of compliance. Some insisted we sit down some had staff wearing full PPE some had words when we came out of the toilets en masse and some werent even fucking bothered and it was like the good old days.

Oh I don’t know. I know once I get my hair done a week on Wednesday I will want to debut some of my Summer wardrobe that has not had an outing this year and go out and get a change of scenery. Being an introvert really does not do it for me.

WHAT

I am like 15 minutes by bus from Notting Hill. I’d have LIVENED YOU UP

The bars could not have been all that busy if they didn’t have a booking system and you were able to walk in to them all which is better than I expected when they are not allowed to be at full capacity. :eyes:

The media has been circulating the expected HOPEFULLY CHERRY PICKED photos of absolute debauchery

I MIGHT check out the social club tomorrow as it's just a Sunday Quiz with about a dozen people usually, but am staying well away from the second wave inducing carnage that is probably the general pubs.
