Gmorning

I've been awake since five so I've walked to a lighthouse and am patiently awaiting sunrise.

5 here too, but that’s my normal wake up time naturally anyway.

Off to Guildford today for a mooch for no apparent reason, which will be nice.

Opened a bag of mixed nuts in their shells last night so I've done an experiment with the garden squirrels this morning. I put out a brazil nut, a peanut, a hazelnut, an almond and a walnut and lined them up on the back step when I knew tattytail and at least one of the kittens was around. First she took the almond, then she left half the almond on the fence and came down for the walnut while the kit ate the rest of the almond. Next she took the hazelnut, then the brazil and finally the peanut (but a magpie might have taken the peanut, it happens a lot, I didn't see). The kittens still won't come to the step while I'm there but they sit on the fence and watch mum come right up to me. I reckon she'd take food from my hand but I'm scared of being bitten by those teeth.

Last year the brazil nut always went first and almonds were left until last.

Busy day. Big shop, haircut and the in-laws. Dad's birthday meal tomorrow.

What a delightful treat Guildford was. WHO KNEW?

Ended up buying a massive chair and somehow getting it in the car and the charity shops were basically just rich people giving away designer stuff. :disco:

So you actually landed on Antarctica @Rachey? I thought the big boat was just sailing past. Are you both enjoying the cruise?
No we weren't allowed to land on Antarctica because we were too big. We sailed around for 4 days.

The penguins are the Falklands where we spent the day on land.

Absolutely loving it.

I used to live near Guildford. We went shopping there regularly. Not been for years.

It’s really nice. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. As I said, you can tell what a place is like from the charity shops, and it was all fancy! Got myself a lovely Folk jumper for £10. Even the TK Maxx was a higher standard! :D

I mean, I’ve been before, but not for ages.

I've never thought of Guildford as somewhere to go for the day. I think we can do it relatively easily on the train from here. I assume we'd need to change at Reading. Hmmm...

In recent weeks we've done both Andover and Newbury as places we've never been before.

And in Andover we found somewhere we're in no rush to return to.

Andover is nasty.

But I do quite like Newbury. Lovely cruising ground just outside too. :disco:

Just saw a huge Jamie Dornan Diet Coke billboard, while sitting above the wheel arch on the bus. May need to ride a couple of extra stops.
