Tight lil Xmas soiree tonight, everyone's bringing about three bottles of prosecco plus spirits and snacks. Plus edibles. This is how we party 40+

Then my mum's 70th tomorrow. Generously she's putting on a hangover spread.

Unfortunately I feel quite rough, but I reckon I've got this. All my favourite people in two days.
 
Tonight is my first proper Christmas meet up as well. We're doing a stupidly expensive cocktail bar, one of those hidden in plain sight type venues. I'm looking forward to this one as two of my favourite people are going to be there.
 
Out for some chicken and some sort of Christmassy shit tonight also, but wont be a wild one. Next week I'm cooking fake Christmas dinner for 18, probably off my tits.
 
We had our work one yesterday. It went well which was a relief as I was in charge of organisation. I didn't drink much and snuck out just as people were starting to whisper work drama revelations to me.

Have a friend one tonight in the exact same place.
 
I say expensive, but then bearing in mind I've paid over £7 for a single G&T in town, I suppose £15 or so for a cocktail (and they are GOOD ones) isn't so bad.
 
I'm in the office today. Reeeeaaaaally quiet which is a boon. Also just used the Amazon link so I'll be watching carefully to see if it went through.
 
Weather is shit. I need to find a gift for the office’s secret Santa thing. Can’t be arsed.
 
It's our Roly's Christmas party tonight. There's only three of us so no drama. We're going for wine, dinner, to a pub.

I'm sure it'll be lovely but the mood I'm in, I just want a hot bath and my kindle and not to see people.
 
We work 7 days a week so finding a suitable day is almost impossible.
 
I just realised it was my main work one last night. I'm so over them I've forgotten they even happen now.
 
Gone to the supermarket, cleaned the house, did the laundry, washed the curtains, went down to the basement to get some bedroom rugs cause it's getting cold, freshened them up, ordered some food, asked Mr. Bay where the hell do we store the coffee straws and now half the weekend is gone and I can relax and drink my coffee.
 
We had a Christmas lunch yesterday - one of the benefits of working at a university is that the food outlets on campus sometimes put these on for staff (though we do pay for it using our department's budget) and they're actually really good. There's also an outdoor Christmas market on Wednesday with food stalls etc, which I always look forward to :disco:

Our Xmas lunch isn't until the 21st and right now, it's an absolute coyote job. Given that it's a Thursday afternoon, it could potentially be a bit quieter so it might be sufferable.
 
Londoners, where are the best Christmas lights centrally?

I'm up in a couple of weeks for a matinee of Peter Pan at the Palladium with my great nieces. I'm not going to have a huge amount of time to do much else once we've eaten, so a trip to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park doesn't really seem worth it.

I'm guessing both Oxford and Regent Streets should be good. And I assume Covent Garden has a tree?
 
My WhatsApp is alive with booze purchases for tonight. It's quite thrilling.

Yes OF COURSE sloe gin is a good idea!

I walked through Euston to Russell Square, and a lot of London is lit up really nicely with Xmas lights!
