Nothing like togetherness in the community, eh? Still, a good opportunity for businesses to unfold their £3 rainbow flags and put them in the window.

Cynical, me?

Half a million wasps are currently going into a gap under the eaves on my extension right over the kitchen window and next to the back door. I keep going out and spraying Raid up the gap (then ducking quickly back into the house) in the vain hope that they'll change their minds and piss off somewhere else but more likely is a trip to buy wasp powder later and then murder them under cover of darkness tonight.

I hate wozzers.

Estate agents are open Saturdays, aren't they? I'd have the house straight on the market.

Oh don't get me started on wasps. I know they are annoying but really you don't need to JUMP OUT OF YOUR CHAIR and RUN AROUND SCREAMING every time you see one.

I am petrified of wasps but manage to stay generally FAIRLY calm nowadays.

Literally the worst day of my entire life was at university when we had a wasps nest in our porch. We got the council to come out and deal with it, they gassed them and, it being a Friday, we all disappeared home for the weekend.

When I returned, I calmly entered my housemate’s bedroom, at the front, above the porch, to be confronted with an entire room covered from carpet to bed full of mostly dead, some slightly pulsating wasps like something out of a horror movie. To this day I don’t know how I dealt with it. Well I do...I ran out screaming and waited across the road til a more sensible housemate arrived and could deal with it. For months he would wake up and find a dozy wasp or two next to him on the pillow...

I'm not scared of wasps, I just hate them. If they nested in the shed like they usually do I'd leave them alone but I won't have them buzzing around the back door so they have to be annihilated.

When we had a nest in the porch at the old house we borrowed the beekeeping suit from the prison gardener to spray the powder in, Mr F looked a right sight in it. :D

My house is full of MOTHS. I don't know where they are coming from but they are keeping the SPIDERS fed :)

That scene would have KILLED me.

Wasps are cunts, bees are cool.

Does that make me a racist?

We got lots of exhausted bees on our doorstep at work because our front door's bright yellow and the posh school opposite keeps an apiary on the roof. I feed them sugar water and send them on their way.

You're not racist. Bees are planet saviours and wasps are destroyers.

I read an article on the ecological importance of wasps the other day. Still think they are cunts though.

Enjoying a FUCK ALL Saturday for the first time since before Glastonbury. I'm going to mow the lawn and go to the market like a man of my age should.

Halfway through my overtime and I only want one of my colleagues to fall down a very large hole with very sharp spikes at the bottom*. That's pretty good for me.

(*apart from the one upon whom such a fate shall be wished until the end of my days)

I went to the art gallery in town, and it was all fresh exhibits, which was nice.

I might drink all the booze in the house tonight.

For the first time in my life, I’m at the end of a holiday I don’t want to end :(

I've just popped open a bottle of PROSPERO, which is apparently SPANISH PROSECCO.

Oh dear, but OH WELL.

Mr S buys small bottles of that in TESCO. It's FAIRLY DISGUSTING but ANY PORT IN A STORM. Never buy the carbonated Hungarian white wine in CANS though :zombie:

Oh I’ve just re-read that, no idea. Sure it’ll get you pissed though.

In fact we're going to have 10 cl each of PROSPERO right now with LIZA TARBUCK

Don't say we don't know how to have a GOOD TIME

Didn't prosecco originally become popular in the UK because cava was a bit too dry for the British palate? Nice to see the Spanish are taking the Italians on. I've never had it.

I really fucking hate most Prosecco and especially people who think they’re being all GLAMOROUS by drinking it.

Well that was DISGUSTING. It made me VOMIT.

Oh well onto the cheap wine.

GLAMOUR!

I’ve taken a sudden and unexpected liking to Aperol Spritz on this holiday.

I love an Aperol spritz, but it doesn't taste the same back home.

There's a great Negroni variation based on Aperol. I'll see if I can find it...

Actually, it's a piece of piss - equal parts Aperol, gin and sweet vermouth. So I think that is exactly the same, except substituting Campari for Aperol, isn't it?

Just spent about 5 minutes on the city centre. Three separate groups with hen party sashes on :zombie:
