Saturday sweatbox

It's still cooling down to 12°C at night but I reckon the humid mess will be heading our way soon.
 
I slept the best I have all week last night, and didn't find the heat anywhere near as bad. My top tip is a deep, cool bath, which I put peppermint Radox in. I had that about an hour before going to bed, and it absolutely set me up for sleep.

Even this morning I didn't feel as grotty, clammy and in immediate need of a sheep dip when I woke up.
 
I got paid last night and splashed out on a mega Indian/ Nepalese takeaway plus wine. The food was stunning, a total revelation.

However my drinking tolerance is rock bottom. I managed a bottle of wine and felt super sleepy. Went to bed at 9. Was up again at 10. Back in bed by midnight and then up at 5am. Messiest night sleep for an age. At least it's a Saturday though.

It's breaking here today - we're due rain this afternoon.
 
Staying in a converted coach house this weekend which is very creepy at night, so I barely slept last night flinching at every little weird noise outside.

I was roasting hot last night thanks to a combination of beer and red wine, woke up at 5am thinking I was going to spontaneously combust so got up and slept on the outdoor sofa for an hour. It was quite nice.

I used the peppermint salts in a pouch - £2.50 in Asda. But use a lot more than they recommend, in a deep bath.
 
I love a soak in a hot bath. Only had one bath last winter because I was freaked about how much running the boiler for an hour would cost, normally in winter I'd have a singing bath every Sunday evening.
 
I prefer a shower, but I do miss the option of a bath now I live somewhere that doesn't have one. YMC likes baths so getting one installed is on the longish list of home improvements for the future :o
 
There is a lovely breeze blowing through the house now long live summer (until tuedsay)
 
I just got rained on while I was coming home from my brother's house (visit to give my niece her birthday presents) and it was actually quite pleasant. Just a light drizzle and not enough to break the heat.

Is this a national thing today? I've been out wandering here and not come across a gathering like this, but did see two couples wearing ears only.

Nah there's a Manchester group that meets in the gay village every month. They go for a quick walk to the park at 14:30, gather for some pics, confuse some normies, then head back to the bar

You can only really get them custom made. You find a reputable fursuit maker, give them some designs and ask for a quote

I'm behind the camera. As you're looking at £600-1200+ just for a head, I'll stick to VR for turning into something else.

£600-£1200 just for a head! That's rather shocking but have to admit I just sat here and thought I'm in the wrong job.

Honestly, if I could suss out how to do it I'd be on it like a car bonnet in my spare time. All those years of making costumes for dressing up days at spawn's school has put me in good stead, although they do look slightly more complicated than a Tudor-style dress made from curtain material. :D

Yep or like 4-6k for a full suit. I'd rather just have a car than something used at most once a month (more likely a couple of times a year) :)

It's all the time that goes into it and that fursuit makers tend to have it as their only job. As they can end up working a month upwards on it and aren't afraid of having a pretty decent income either from being a niche and needing a fair bit of skill and artistic talent. Plus it's kind of taboo in the community to question the prices of creators and artists so I guess there's not a lot of pressure to bring them down
 
I've had to do some googling about furries as I didn't really know it was a thing. Interesting.
