Seventh albums

Yep I got it at Christmas too. All those songs remind me of Christmas. And he-man as that year I got loads of new figures too :disco:
My parents took a big risk one year by allocating me a Now album but my sister a Hits album at Christmas. I remember studying both tracklists very closely on Christmas morning in advance of having a row about wanting the Hits one instead.

A couple that some might file under wilderness years:

(Dusty's 60s American albums are comps and don't count)

Isn’t it ‘At last’?
Depends if you go by when it was recorded/finished or when it was released. ‘Shine’ as an album was ready in 2001 but the label folded so it didn’t get released, there was an EP in 2002 but finally got a full album release in Japan in 2004 by which time ‘At Last’ had already come out on another label.

Absolute career killer. 2 weeks in the top 100. Now a "fan favourite" (it is actually better than the two albums that preceded it and than several they've made since).

Maybe only @octophone is a fellow The The fan on Moopy. This is album 7 if you include the debut released under his own name. If not, there was a 24 year wait for album 7 until he finally followed it up in 2024.

I was debating to include that or Shine. But I counted the Christmas album as her sixth. Both that and At Last are albums of new recordings only one is of all covers so thought it didn’t make sense to include one and not the other.

Mmmm.. a bit of a middling one. Iconic album cover of course, and 'Sorrow' is a classic but.. it's just 'there' as far as his albums are concerned for me. Then again, covers albums are always meh by definition.

another is it or isn’t it her seventh album. I’m counting Bodyguard and Preacher’s Wife since they are predominantly Whitney. But not Waiting to Exhale.

If Whitney's soundtrack albums count as albums, then Madonna's I'm Breathless definitely does - as only 3 of those songs were featured on the film!
