From what I understand, Spain expected Shakira to pay 14.5 million euros (based of €25 million annum income) in taxes in 2011, but she didn't actually spend enough days (thanks to the 120 date world tour) out of the year in Spain to be eligible to pay any tax. Since then she's been fined €40 million in fines/penalties (!) which she paid as well to keep the legal dispute on course as well as the initial requested €14.5 million tax.

The court ruling is that all this money should be returned to her as well as at least €5 million in lost interest and legal fees.

Anyway if one thing is apparent is that Shakira is the queen of off shore accounts and shell companies. GOOD FOR HER!
