For a very short period in the '90s, Shawn was rather the QoL in Americ. And what a wonderful song.

She says, days go by
I'm hypnotised
I'm walking on a wire...

The Irish loved this one too (unsurprisingly.) Anyway, for all the pleasant production and instrumentation, it's about a woman that burns down her own house.

I love Shawn. The 'A Few Small Remains' album is an all-time banshee fave of mine.

Shotgun Down The Avalanche is her best song though. The lyrics just floor me.

incidentally i've had this alisted on my ipod (there was a thread recently, wasn't there?)
lovely song from a really nice period for women "singer/songwriters"

This is a really lovely cover version too...

I suspect nobody cares but me and possibly Suedey, but I just learned Shawn is doing a surprisingly extensive UK & Ireland tour later this year.

I always pegged her as one that would escape the “Lilith Fair” tag and sustain a decent sized career.

I saw Shawn in Leeds tonight, she was great! Surprisingly witty. I particularly enjoyed her rather rambling story about being haunted by the ghost of Ol Dirty Bastard.

I was saddened by the lack of Shotgun Down The Avalanche, which is far and away my favourite song of hers, but it was the only really notable omission.
