Bizarrely, at the exact point where her material got really good, the UK entirely lost interest in Sheena Easton. A #7 hit in America though.

OBVIOUSLY a STONE COLD 10/10.
Sheena's problem is she was seen as "girl next door" in the UK and Prince-ing up her image looked desperate. She didn't have quite as much baggage in the US and so the transition wasn't going to be so jarring.
It was also around the time the public turned on her for moving to the US and "abandoning" the UK. But yeah, the fact we couldn't make Sugar Walls and Strut go top 40 was an abomination. She was basically poison until The Lover In Me gave her a brief comeback.
