The question is: where would we hold a Moopmeet that's convenient for everyone? My first choice would be Manchester.

Manchester would be PERFECT for me. I have friends there so I could stay for a few nights or just sleep on @Floppet ‘s couch as not a chance in hell I am letting her go home before we hit the pubs.

I don't even remember who I've met. But then I think it's over a decade since I did a meet. Apart from that one when a few people came here.
 
I've probably met 20 or more posters, many of them no longer here, seeing as it's been so long.
 
So it's settled. We're definitely having a Manchester Moopmeet.

Next thing - where would we go? Northern Quarter? Deansgate? I know some smashing pubs in Swinton but depending on whether or not you're in the mood to be stabbed we might have to give that a miss.

I LOVE Deansgate and I’ve never been to Northern Quarter at night but have heard good things.

If we hire BarPop's leaky basement, they'll probably throw in a racist drag queen to keep us entertained for the evening.

There's also Thompson's, the only bar I know that plays Eurovision songs more niche than EUPHORIA. Of course you'd have to do a risk assessment to see if it's worth the risk of someone being murdered in the toilets.

You know I've been out in Manchester a few times but I couldn't tell you name of anywhere I went beyond CANAL STREET.
 
I loved Manchester but I don’t really have any advance on Kala’s “some rancid club that was closing down” description.

Of course I know it! We used to do charity pubcrawls along the A6 (ish) from The Flemish Weaver at Salford to The Dun Mare at Little Hulton. This was in the late 80s so there were lots more pubs than there are now. Mr F had the worst poisoning from a pint in the Star on one of them so he threw up in every pub (and several gardens) from The Stocks at Walkden onwards instead of having a pint.

Oh you are a sweetheart. I’m a bit of a loose cannon too. Surely some of the young guns would see us home safe. :D
 
Going back I recall reading that @octophone has definitely quit her admin roll.

We should probably get some mod and admin elections following the recent issues. Also there are three mods up there without having been elected.

Has there been any discussion about this in the mod forum?
 
Also just an idea. Make the mod forum visible. Have a separate forum for sensitive stuff, but I think some of the recent issues may have not been so inflamed with visibility.
