Singers who should've received a credit

Will Young on the quite magnificent History by Groove Armada, no idea why he’s not credited and it’s one of their best ever songs.

He’s even a co-writer!

(He is credited in the album line notes, just not on the main song information)

I don’t think so. No sign of him on the single cover, and, although the OCC’s website is utter wank, no sign of him there either. Seal released a version under his name the following year.

I mean does the producer of All Saints songs really need a credit?

Equally the added names on Freed From Desire, seem like a £££ thing, since it's become a forever hit.
 
I guess they technically count as singers: Stevie Wonder on “There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart” and to a lesser extent Sir Elton John on “I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’”.
 
I do feel that There's No One Quite Like Grandma should be retrospectively credited to St Winifred's School Choir featuring Sally Lindsay.
 
The Official charts claim Princess Superstar was only added to the credit of Exceeder since Saltburn. I dont recall a vocal free version ever being a hit.

I note some Eurythmics songs now have the additional credit of Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart.

I'm guessing it's all about the money, but damn it's messy.

Perfect (Exceeder) is a mash up of the vocal free Mason track and a Princess Superstar track. Neither of them were hits but definitely existed before the combined version first charted in 2007. It was credited to Mason vs Princess Superstar on the CD.

Yes, I don't understand that at all. On all the Now compilations coming out, their songs are always credited to 'Eurythmics, Annie Lennox, Dave Stewart'. Why?!

I guess it's some legal thing. Perhaps neither Lennox or Stewart have ownership over the Eurythmics name, for digital releases and therefore don't get lucrative streaming pay.

Or something. As ever Google failed me.

Oh I guess that makes sense, and I hadn't noticed it was also on Spotify. If I was Annie Lennox (or her label) I'd want the connection made for streaming. And it wouldn't seem fair to then not give Dave Stewart the same treatment.

Can we expect to see this for all bands where members has gone on to other fame? Yazoo would be another very similar comparison.

None of the featured acts on that album are credited individually, including Bryan Ferry, so it isn't a slight against Will.

The album does credit them en masse on the reverse sleeve. Odd though I agree.
