According to Music Week:

"Released in April and already achieving Gold status, Kylie's 14th studio album looks set to be one of the key records this Christmas. With three BBC Radio 2 A-lists under its belt, the next single is a duet with Jack Savoretti, while a host of big TV promo appearances are already booked in November."

I suppose this is the reason for the month long break in the Golden Tour in October/November.
 
She performed it with Jack in July in Venice.




I do think it's a great choice for the run up to Christmas for the album, particularly if they are getting Strictly/Graham Norton level performances.
 
God I love it. I was sorry to see it not on the tour. It won’t do a thing, but I really want a video...
 
Great choice of song, he's got a good following too. It's unlikely to be a hit but if they get on plenty of shows to perform it its just the kind of thing to give the album another boost.
 
Oh there's no way it will be a hit. But I do think it's the sort of song that will shift an album.

If there is decent promo lined up, I think 175k by year end isn't completely out of the question.
 
110k. I think it could get to around 150k if they push it hard enough but not beyond that.

112,101 for Golden to be exact - assuming the poster on ukmix is correct, anyway.

I do think it can go above 150k, even if sales have slowed considerably. But it's going to take solid promo to get there. Assuming she does have that lined up, I think it's possible.

Golden did get a TV performance didn't it? I don't think A Lifetime To Repair did, but I still think it's the weakest thing on the album so I may have blanked that out.

I can see Radio 2 going A list again as Savoretti is involved as well. And I wouldn't be surprised to see TV ads again - you get the impression everything is a lot more focussed this time around with a clearer strategy.

I don't think it recharted last year, did it? The reissue didn't do much at all when it was first released.

Again according to ukmix, the total was 131k at the start of 2017. But it only managed one week at #197 on the album chart over Christmas 2017. So I doubt we're talking much more at all.

All those streams of Santa Baby clearly coming from a Spotify playlist, rather than people streaming at least enough of the album for it to count towards the album chart, presumably.

41-65-45-62-88 according to the OCC. But that was 2016, and it also confirms it didn't re-enter the Top 100 in 2017.
 
I'm looking forward to this being released. It obviously represents a different side of the album and hopefully it will sell it as Christmas approaches. They seemingly aren't going for a re-release (cassette aside) at this point so will be relying on this for a push.

Going by the video above the telly performances should be wonderful as well. She sounds wonderful, and Jack plays his supporting role to Queen Kylie well (as is only proper). I do like how he keeps it restrained and allows her to shine, even if at his own gig he ends up sounding like more of a guest artist than on the studio version.

Put it down to age but I genuinely thought that reissue was last year. Time is flying by.

All the uptempo Golden tracks had a great reception on tour and ALTR was no exception. I appreciate it more now than when I first heard it.

Stacey Dooley danced to 'Dancing' last week. But obviously Kylie didn't perform it.
 
Without a doubt the first two singles are going to be tour staples from now on but I wouldn't be surprised if she goes back to the title track a fair bit as well.
 
She's on number 21 for the year and has seemingly been overtaken by Anne Marie as the female with the highest selling album (that was released in 2018).
 
Music Week say this will be the 5th and final single (I actually thought they could/should chuck out Raining Glitter or Shelby 68 to radio in January) but oh well

They already have a video for “Shelby 68” from the tour, basically, so yes, just ship that out...

Radio 2 are lapping up everything she releases, so yes another single to try and keep the album ticking over in the lean months of January and February wouldn't be a bad idea at all.

A Lifetime to Repair only had a lyric video so shelling out for an expensive video isn't necessary either.
 
Surely she's got a good chance of a Brit nod as well. Not having a single out for that would seem a waste.

Well BMG have supposedly decided on a Greatest Hits release for 2019 (and a clutch of reissues apparently - how long can you keep fleecing fans with the same fucking material over and over again?). Anyway it strikes me as supremely lazy, that rather than investing a bit more time (as was initially promised) and effort on the current record, they've chosen to go down this predictable route.

What happened to one greatest hits set a decade? Somebody wake me up when she's ready to release a new album in 2020.
 
Watch Impossible Princess get a re-release with virtually none of the unheard tracks included.
 
Dancing was released precisely 10 months ago next week so this campaign has already lasted a lot longer than the typical Kylie campaign post-X. And it'll continue until Christmas it seems. You can't say BMG haven't put a fuck ton of effort into this campaign. How much more time SHOULD they invest in this album? Fans fucking love REISSUES ANYWAY! Have you spent your 5 year supply of Kylie goodwill in the last few months, and now you have to wait until 2020 to recalibrate, Edward?

Yeah, I was surprised that they were wrapping up singles when they had promised an 18 month campaign.

Kylie has definitely felt more visible during this campaign than any other I can think of since X - and that has been really nice.
 
It feels like there is another single on this album (my vote goes to Live A Little though I could see Love getting the treatment too) so yeah, it does seem like they are prematurely putting it to bed.

Surely they could keep the campaign running until her Glastonbury appearance (if that is definitely happening) and then reissue the record with a bonus hits disc?
 
If this is true, presumably they just think they can more money out of another compilation. If Glastonbury IS happening, it's inevitably going to be a set very largely based on hits. I'd be surprised if we got more than Dancing and Stop Me From Falling from Golden.

But like I keep saying, surely there's a middle ground with a 2CD Golden/Hits repackage.
 
I'm surprised they haven't gone the rerelease route. Aren't most albums repackaged these days?
 
I’m quite happy with re-issues, presuming it isn’t PWL stuff, which is now exhausted. The two deconstruction era albums have unreleased stuff and the existing reissues aren’t comprehensive anyway and JUST IMAGINE what they could do with the Parlophone era stuff!
 
As far as I understand it, it will only be the PWL and deConstruction albums. They don't have the rights to the Parlophone material.
