DeCon is fine. They’ll probably do vinyl releases of PWL but I can’t see them bothering with any more than that...

I don’t think SHE does. Most of the deCon flogging has not been thanks to her or her current record company. It’s the owners trying to flog a dead horse- but there’s still SO much out there unreleased. (OH FOR THE SAINT ETIENNE STUFF)

I have to say, I do feel vinyl reissues are getting out of hand. I notice “Ray of Light” is popping out in another colour in the US later this month- last year we had blue vinyl and it’s already been reissued in standard black...
 
Wasn't Kylie Minogue meant to be getting a reissue that never happened on some random label a while back?

I'll bite for that and Impossible Princess if they dig up enough from the vaults. The Cherry Pop PWL releases were more than good enough.

Given that she now effectively has more control over the reissues, I wouldn't count my chickens..

I mean even when she was on Parlophone she was able to veto much of what was on the original track list of Hits+. She also got them to change the cover so as to not get the branding confused with Light Years.
 
I'd say that at a push, we'll get the rest of the Rapino Brothers tracks (for all the good that they are) which formed the original foundation for Kylie Minogue and possibly the OTHER Saint Etienne song.

Tracks like Soon with Nick Cave and Chorus with Bono for Impossible Princess are less likely to appear (though I'm sure we would be grateful for the latter). I can't remember about the rest of the unreleased material from IP - though I do know that there was a fair bit recorded with producers who didn't feature on the album.

To be honest, I'm far more intrigued about the lost tracks from the Parlophone years but obviously Warner have control over that. If she did indeed record with Goldfrapp and Daft Punk, I'd love to hear the results.

The label died- they spent fuckloads of money on reissuing the early Gloria Estefan/Miami Sound Machine stuff only for Glo to pull the plug at the last minute with no reason why...
 
OT But I AM susprised none of Glo's stuff has been reissued. I'm guessing she wants to do it herself?

As for Kylie, I kinda feel a bit better now regarding the vinyl reissues that I haven't been able to get hold of at all. I have to tell myself that I don't really NEED everything...
 
I don't like that picture particularly.

'Incredible' Jack Savoretti's name smaller than the song title, put firmly in place there.
 
I think they’d have been wiser to give him a much bigger billing, focus on the duet aspect. Some of the tv slots look quite high profile though.
 
I'm presuming so. He's tweeted about it being released, and she didn't bother including it in the tour set when it would have been solo.
 
So the single version is a 'Christmas Mix' with some bells jingling slapped on. :D

Jack is now backing her on the first chorus and they've cut the instrumental bit afterwards.
 
I think it works better with Jack coming in on the second verse.

I like what they've done with the rest of it but for me, that part doesn't work.

It makes it sound more of a duet than a featured spot but I think I agree. Overall the new mix does make it sound more radio ready - at least it isn't a shocker like the one for A Lifetime to Repair.
 
Given they’ve made it sound a bit more Christmassy I can’t help but feel they should have held off another few weeks before releasing it.
 
Beautiful video. The tux look and the kaleidoscope shots are stun :disco:

The outro on the new edit is a touch too abrupt but otherwise it has survived in tact so that's NICE
 
I really love this song. Hope the TV slots can give it a decent shelf life. I think it was the right choice to hold back and push for Christmas (although the bells are a *bit* on the nose :D).
 
It's hit Spotify today as well. I know the promo isn't for a while yet, but it does feel like it would have benefited from being held back for perhaps a few weeks for me. Then again I don't suppose they are imagining they will get much of a hit from it. I just hope it's able to get the album shifting in December rather than now.

I agree it does seem a couple of weeks early for the big Xmas albums sales push.

The video is very pretty. I would have liked more of the shots of Jack lurking in the mirror in a slightly ghostly fashion.
 
Add me to the “too early” pile. Glad the edit hasn’t butchered the song though...
 
I wonder whether they’re hoping that releasing it now, it might slip onto a few autumn/winter playlists before the inevitable rush of the Christmas songs.

Better to be left at the bottom of a playlist than completely overlooked for inclusion in a month’s time.
 
The shot where they're in the same room together is quite dramatic. I think this is easily one of her most effective videos. Do we know who directed it?
