Continuing with these as plenty of people have been voting and also because some of my absolute faves fall into this range.

Yeah, in hindsight after Rhythm Of Love was probably where she should have left SAW but then I wonder how things would have went long term if she hadn’t taken the route she did. It all worked out perfectly the end.
 
The lush Put Yourself In My Place is my favourite here, but Breathe cushions it well and Tension takes on its own frenetic headache of rhythm well above the others. I do enjoy myself with the original Where is the Feeling, but I'm going on the single edit.

Forgot about What Kind of Fool (Heard All That Before). It's kind of a step back (she did warn us), but also oddly propulsive and compelling.

Tension barely making top 20 is a shame because it’s an excellent track though I guess having to follow Padam was always going to be a mess.

Same here. Well, not quite HATE, but relatively, kind of. Although I still think the production is a little on the thin side.
 
I have no recollection of Get Outta My Way ever charting at all for some reason let alone as high as it did.

Tension going top 20 was kinda sweet, no way did I expect 2 Kylie singles from the same album to go top 20 in this day and age.

I don’t remember it from when it came out, but I bought Hits+ around the time of her Light Years comeback and I was obsessed.
 
No.11 really is the cruellest position in the chart and there’s been plenty of songs I’ve loved over the years that have stalled there and just failed to crack the top ten…but I think the one that was the most disappointing was Put Yourself In My Place. I loved it from the moment I heard the Kylie Minogue album and it deserved to go much higher than it did. Probably my favourite Kylie song of all time.

It was/is MAGNIFICENT and it does that absolute thing I love of taking a song from one meaning to another, just with a different delivery. The single mix is stalkery, threatening and with a sense of unresolved dread throughout it, which the video leans into as well. It wasn't particularly commercial, which was probably its downfall, but I loved that they went with it for release.

this mix was an abomination. I guess they tried but the album version remains wildly superior and one of her overall best songs.
 
They're essentially two almost entirely different songs to me, I love them both.

I agree that they are essentially different songs, for the reasons I gave above. Also love the album version, but it's a fairly generic Kylie album track REALLY.

I agree, though at the time I think it was the BIR Bish Bosh mix I played most as it came closest to an album version edit (unless there actually was one without the album version outro that I’m not recalling).

Had they wanted to go with the album version (probably an edit) for a single, presumably they would have done it a good few months earlier.

By the time this was released so long after PYIMP, the album had been off the charts for several weeks if not months, and it would have so easy not to bother doing anything at all.

I'm not sure I love it THAT much, but I'm also glad they did it, and only more so in retrospect. It's one of those minor but not insignificant moves that have given her the career she has.
 
I do fucking LOVE this performance. Possibly my most played of hers outside of Say Something Infinite Disco.

I don't remember when she performed it though, in relation to the release of the album or single.

 
Oh, Chris Evans refers to Confide In Me being her 'last single', so if correct that was before the release of PYIMP, and LONG before the single version.

I seem to recall that it was this version that got most radio play at the time, I remember being surprised that it was the last track on the cd single when I thought it would have been the first. Clearly a bit more radio friendly than the actual single version.

Kylie Minogue performed "
Where Is the Feeling?" on the Channel 4 show Don't Forget Your Toothbrush on December 10, 1994. The performance was part of her promotion for the song and featured a medley that included "Rescue Me".
 
So after PYIMP then.

I assume they originally did intend to release it as a single as an album edit in February or March. Waiting until mid July made no sense.
 
According to Wikipedia, it was going to be the second single, but then they went for PYIMP (presumably for the Christmas ballad market) and the original release date was scheduled for March, but she was off filming Bio Dome so they delayed it.
 
Probably would have been wiser to continue with an uptempo dance track to fit in with the storyline of her moving to a cool dance label than to a ballad as a second single but hindsight is easy and if that had been the case probably wouldn’t have got the completely different version that came out.
 
That video got quite a bit of favourable attention though no? I mean obviously my young gay boy lense was rather magnified and my memory now rose-tinted with old gay man lenses, but still.
 
I love the album version but the remix is classic Brothers In Rhythm and I adore it.
 
I still can’t get over her throwing the promotion for such a career-pivotal album into disarray for BIO DOME! :D

Especially considering Pauly Shore was on an obvious downhill popularity slide by that time and the other “big name” was one of the lesser Baldwin brothers
 
You can understand why she took time out to film Streetfighter. She did get the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for that, after all.
 
I think Streetfighter is the only film I've ever paid to see at the cinema and walked out of.
