Anyone tried this? (It’s in Apple TV so probably not)



Gary Oldman and his band of disgraced agents (including the sexy Jack Lowden) doing spy work and butting heads with Kristin Scott Thomas.

It’s quite well made and they do 2 short seasons per year which is fun in the age of 2 years plus between seasons.

I've just watched the fifth episode of season three, and this is just the most enjoyable show going.

Kristin Scott Thomas and Sophie Okonedo are glorious having deliciously adversarial office drinkies, while elsewhere all kind of chaos kicks off.

I finally started this last week. I am already on season FOUR. What a MAGNIFICENT show. I'm having that feeling that only a few shows ever give you - I don't want to reach the end. Fortunately, Season 5 premiers in September I believe and it's already renewed for 6 and 7.

It is, in many ways, the perfect TV show.


I'm ready to declare Apple TV the best TV platform right now. Severance, Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, Silo and Slow Horses, all in the last 5 years, wow. I also want to watch Hijack, Blackbird, Smoke, Prime Target, The Studio, Disclaimer and Criminal Record, all meant to be good or great.

I did watch this. Really good isn't it? Don't have Apple TV at the moment, but will no doubt if Slow Horses and Severance happen to come out at the same time.

In terms of pure enjoyment it is the best show on tv for me. So regular too, they'll be filming season 7 when they are showing 5. The showrunner left after season 5 so hopefully there won't be any downturn in quality.

There is also a show coming this autumn with Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson that is based on another Mick Herron novel (Down Cemetery Road).

I think it has settled down to a year, or just under, between each one so not quite two a year unfortunately. They are just organised in getting them lined up I guess.

Yes, the same. I'm not going to start reading them now though. Don't want to start chalking up changes and then move on to spoilering things.

And I love shows that have continuous underlying themes and storylines running parallel with the season arcs…. I’m midway through four and there’s still big reveals happening and major character development from seeds planted in season 1

It is still hugely entertaining but that was the weakest season so far. Probably not the strongest plot and I think the gaps in the horses were felt.

The trailer for the next season looks exciting though. I see it covers two of the books, which feels like it could be a lot for six episodes.

Richard Osman was recently talking up Lowden's prospects of being cast as the next Bond... I can see it in River's less hapless moments.
