Smile was the surprise box office hit of 2022, taking over $120 million on a small budget.

Naomi Scott takes the lead in the sequel, which is pretty much more of the same, with some high quality music numbers. A bit overlong, but well crafted and fun that sets up a big opportunity for further sequels.

Oh, there's also a Drew Barrymore cameo, and Jack Nicholson's son Ray has a brief role, he emulated his dad so well.

More of the same, but well executed. Naomi Scott is excellent in this. There was also a good bit of black humour in it, the FUCK THE WORLD TOUR! line made me chuckle, very Justin Timberlake-coded :D
I called the ending the minute I found out the movie was going to be about a popstar, but it was fun getting there. The issue I have with the film is that it's a bit
unclear at which point she's starting to have delusions and which characters and events are real. The scenes with her former best friend were obviously just in her head, but was Morris real at all?.
The whole 'popstar with substance abuse issues' concept also felt quite topical today :(

Excited for this - 84% on RT.

Expect it won’t do the gangbusters box office of the first one, but you never know.

It is highly entertaining. 😀 I really like
the pop star scenes where she was rehearsing and stuff, really well made and a great performance by Naomi. Adds intensity to the movie when it’s not only about the jump scare scenes. Although, I feel a bit insulted Jennifer Lopez wasn’t cast as a lead since it was about a pop star.

Also, I kept thinking why Dylan Gelula looks so familiar but I think she reminds me of Alicia de Witt from Cybill

She was Jane Krakowski's daughter in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. And plays both parts pretty much the same way :D

Yep, she’s fantastic in this

So much better than the first

The more I think about it, the role of Skye Riley would have been perfect for Sinitta. This could’ve been her big comeback. :(

But Naomi is amazing too. :disco:

Fuck me this was intense.

This is on an entirely different level to the first (rather good) film. Agree, Naomi Scott’s performance is incredible.

First one was absolute bollocks. I enjoyed this though, but it was a little bit repetitive and could have cut out at least 15 minutes.

I rather enjoyed the first one and quite liked the first act of this one, but then it really dived off a cliff. Very repetitive and too many plot holes. It was also amusing to me that she chose the Katy Perry Witness era hairdo for her big comeback.
