So Cold You're Hurting My Thursday

Morning!

Yep, freezing here too- but that frost is going to be LOVELY for my ALLOTMENT SPROUTS :disco:

I might pop into the town today to pick up some gifts. Unfortunately the horse tram only stops here twice a day, and so I'll have to wait until one hour after midday before I'm on my way.

Ok, so sales interview one complete. In the space of an interview, he got the company name wrong twice and at the end of an hour said "Oh I need to go now as I've got another call" even though I'd booked it for two hours on purpose.

COME ON!

Imagine him having the gall to waste your time like that. What happened to basic integrity?

At least he showed up. Any recruitment drive now I find you get at least 50% of candidates just don't show up to the interview.

(Admittedly, this is a more senior position so I'd expect a bit less, but...)

Maybe he's a diamond in the rough? 💎

TWO HOURS?? I think I went for a job and they said it was a two hour interview I probably wouldn't turn up :D

We’ve covered the kitchen in BLACK PEPPER to hopefully ward off the RATS.

Two hours is rather long to put someone under that much pressure at once I feel. but then I don't work in sales and I fucking detest it with every fibre of my being. I'd rather sell myself than sell a product. :D

When I was a travel agent I had the worst sales in the entire store but the best product knowledge and best IT skills, I only managed to last that long because I was a walking encyclopedia and a whizz with the systems. I was terrible at closing sales and trying to get people to purchase needless extras like trips, car hire and overpriced insurance. I was then asked to move to head office to work on training programmes, but it was in Rochdale, and I was only 20, and had never even left home by this point, so I left the company. They got taken over a year later and closed the office down. So I think I made the right decision.

so, Englanders, which new exciting non-EU regulated crisps should I try? :disco:

Well you’ve clearly never been for a senior position…

But actually, it was a one hour job interview which I made explicitly clear I would book for two hours “in case we overrun”.

Which means turning round at 58 minutes and saying “I’ve got a hard stop at an hour” as a result is entirely unacceptable.

See above but also, fuck me, if you can’t cope with an interview longer than an hour, how are you supposed to pitch and do a follow up meeting with a client?

Won't make any difference, sorry to inform you. Although black peppercorns contain a substance that's toxic to rats they won't avoid it, they'll just avoid eating it. Either get the pest control in, set up bait traps yourself, borrow a friend's pet snake for a month or so or get some snap traps. Most importantly you should make sure there's no food or crumbs they can get at, this means cleaning behind the fridge! You also need to find out how they're getting in and block it up. If you don't deal with it soon you could be overrun quickly, gestation period for rats is just over three weeks, they have 5-10 pups per litter and those pups can start breeding themselves at 4-5 weeks old. Females happily have six litters a year.

I spent over an hour today trying to work out how to claim £4.50 on our expenses system for a Tesco meal deal I had last week so I'm probably not the right target audience :D

It was a temporary solution we’d found on Google :D We tried to find some traps in a few supermarkets today but to no avail, so I’ve ordered some on Amazon which arrive tomorrow. We’ve only seen them jump from one kitchen panel to another next to the back door so hopefully they’ll stay there until we can get them :bruised:
