Why did they think that video was a good idea?! They look like they're doing it at gun point! It crystallises what a horrible unfortunate situation this is and makes the tour just seem like it will be the most miserable cash grab in history.

I think she was the one holdout originally, and it certainly didn’t seem like she was into it during the press activity

But yeah, being the closest one to Paul, don’t blame her at all for not being up to it

I find the whole thing going ahead now - whether Hannah is involved or not - rather crass. If it was a one-off gig, or even scaled back to a few dates in key cities around the UK, I think framing it as a tribute to Paul would feel a bit more tactful.

I do perhaps understand why they may feel the need to push ahead as much as Hannah clearly didn't. But more than anything, it's the thought of them flogging pricey merchandise to fans for a tour that's been rebranded with such a tragic subtext that feels unconscionable.

It's all just so sad and grubby. I don't particularly blame THEM, as Rachel aside they're probably all skint, and it would probably be expensive and logistically difficult to pull the whole thing now.

Exactly this. I guess Boyzone did something vaguely similar after Stephen Gately died, although it was well over a year later and their material lent itself a bit more to a sombre undertone.

I literally can't imagine how bizarre it will be for S Club to jump around to S Club Party, Reach, etc. and then move onto stuff like Two In A Million and Say Goodbye. It just feels like the bulk of their material and how the tour is being framed don't go together in any way whatsoever.

That's a good point RE Boyzone. I had no idea they toured so soon after Gately's death. But yes, easier to swallow given most of their music felt like it was written for funerals anyway.
