is it time to claim this as a classic? i think so.

it really was saved by not being overplayed and still sounds as joyously melancholy as the first time.

Gorgeous. And not to deliberately take anything from Beyonce or Kelendria, but this is quite simply the best song a Knowles has ever done.

The best thing about it, I think, was the fact that it came out of nowhere. I was mesmerized by it by the first time I stumbled upon it- the video, the music, emotive vocal, everything.

11/10 actually applies here.

One of the very best songs of all time. There are not enough superlatives to describe just how good it is.

It is quite possibly the greatest pop record of this century. I can't, off the top of my head, think of anything that tops it. Maybe "Wildest Moments".

A travesty this wasn't given the opportunity to perform chart wise. Based on the reactions from countless live performances and festivals, this is a very, very popular song.

I will put my head on the slab however and say it... I think I might just be of the opinion that "Bad Girls (Verdine version)" is even better...

Limiting it to 10/10 is a travesty. To legitimately rate this, you need to give it an as yet unpronounceable number, that only generations of progress will allow humanity to understand.

Definitely the best of the holy trinity of commercially doomed Dev Hynes heartbreak anthems. (The other two being Flatline and Everything Is Embarassing)

Love this one. Definitely time to start blasting this out again over the Summer.

Fucking superlative and anyone giving this less than a 10 (or who would give it less than an 11 were the mark permitted) is going to Hell.

I prefer singers to make a bit of an effort.

Oh dub

Not everyone has to scream and shout to make a good song. It's not a competition.

i'm desperately trying to make the song below happen (on moopy) and i think anyone who loved losing you would be hard pressed not to love it as well

Well, back to Losing You: seduction incarnate. I'll try that new one out though when I'm less on the phone.

Love my trolling of funky in this thread <3

I'd love a scratch-sample free version, but it really is one of the most impossibly perfect sounds I've ever heard.

This is all still factual. You cannot gay-hyperbole this song. It's definitely in my top ten songs of all time.

so special. in a similar vein (but more upbeat) I also love this one from True EP

she needs to get back with Dev Hynes STAT

Hasn’t dated even slightly

The best song of the 21C so far

:isaidwhatisaid:

I don't go back to her last two albums, but this EP is something else (the Sol-Angel album sounds like a different artist now but has very good stuff too).

Honestly, Beyonce could never.

Further proof that in any musically-inclined family, the most legendary bops will always be provided by LIL SIS.

Going back to True (2014), what a marvel it is. I'm currently transfixed by Bad Girls and this distilled nu-soul airkiss of 80s pop:
