she was only as good a popstar as the songs she was given. Phoenix her A&R did a brilliant job and then she wasn't getting that kind of material anymore. Bang EP with Imanbek was fantastic, but it flopped and that probably killed any chance of her getting any good dance tracks again either.

we're seeing something similar with Ava Max now I think. popstars who are singers rather than artists with a driving voice in the studio can't sustain careers/success for very long. whereas an artist - a Gaga - will ebb and flow, but always has a chance of coming back with something strong because they determine the quality of the material.
