Since my deeper dive into 80s music I've found loads.

This one just popped into my head. I imagine most of moopy knows about this now but I genuinely only discovered that this was a cover LAST YEAR.

The Annie Lennox one is a great example. I found that one out a while ago now, but it was definitely a good ten years or so later.

The number of heavily sampled / almost covers I've found from the 80s that are songs I know from the 90s is shocking

It's like they ran out of ideas in the 90s. But more realistically, it's that the 80s doesn't get enough recognition for how much great R&B was around. Just so much of it was (relatively) underground while pop was so huge.
