Projected to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 this week at #98. Sophie's first ever US main singles chart appearance I believe? (I don't think Groovejet charted, certainly nothing from her solo career ever did before now).
This was on the money. It should jump some next week.

I wouldn’t say he’s country, more folk pop. Stick Season was somehow number one on my Spotify wrapped last year but I don’t think Moopy would like him (maybe @Funky would)

Yeah he's more folk pop than country, but he's crap. Closer to Ed Sheeran than Ben Howard

#29 worldwide really is fucking brilliant, isn’t it?!

And she has charted on the Billboard Hot 100…Sophie…in 2024. It’s really ridiculous.

On a side note, I see Take Me Home and Music Gets have re-entered and climbed respectively up her Spotify top ten. Given she’s getting about 2 million streams a day there must be a good amount of people discovering her and this is starting to flow through to some of her other hits of the time.

I'm glad for people rediscovering Take Me Home, which always felt like an overlooked "lost classic"

But I'd rather see them dig into HANA. It's a fab little album. It really felt like what the Abba comeback should have sounded like.

Yes I really think there's scope for Take Me Home to have a bit of a rebirth too in some sort of way

LOVE Take Me Home. Sophisticated pop at its finest

i know this probably hasn’t peaked yet, and am so pleased for Sophie but am I the only one wondering what next? Her label would be silly not to jump on this momentum wave and should to strike while the iron is hot, no?

her husband literally said two days ago she's been working with Richard X and Cathy Dennis on new bangers!

Never mind that, when is that theaudience 7" that I bought because the b-side was called "Bells For David Keenan" and I understood the references going to be rare enough to be worth punting?

Dead at her main playlist being MOTD+

They're pushing it now aren't they?

Feels like it's peaked (for now) US-wise, no? It's not moved for a few days.

To be fair, even if that is its peak across the board then it’s still loitered around very well given the movie will be on decreasing amounts now. Should head up the Hot 100 next week anyway, but without airplay which is still a big component then it will struggle to make too many more inroads.

Down to like 100 behind #2 in the UK midweek update so could very well be #2 in Friday’s chart :disco:

Let's update this, while it's still growing at least in the UK

26/12 #93 91,527 streams
27/12 #40 109,189
28/12 #20 130,886
29/12 #15 160,630
30/12 #12 172,130
31/12 #8 290,465
01/01 #7 192,905
02/01 #7 232,691
03/01 #4 274,734
04/01 #3 315,444
05/01 #3 387,904
06/01 #3 416,789
07/01 #2 398,880
08/01 #2 464,908
09/01 #2 486,969

The fact it’s doing better with Tuesday streams than on the past weekend is actually very impressive.
