love the title :D Taste also sounds excellent - I believe this one is getting the proper single push
 


Looks like the album title is real…

I wanted an album title that would celebrate my relationship with pop, how I'm feeling at the moment and the age I'm at - I turned 46 last month. I spent a lot of time in my early pop career being told that pop was a young person's game. And my extraordinary adventures through music have taught me completely the opposite. And actually, making this 8th album, I'm more in love with it than ever. So the title is a celebration of that, and is in tribute to all the women than went before me, all the women that come behind me - that you can get to your mid 40s, still be making pop music, still be having lots of fun..

It's a playful title, and there's, maybe, a little bit of a serious note behind the buoyancy.

the cover is so drab. it doesn't match the sound of the music at all. Taste is... okay, but Relentless Love remains the best of what we've heard so far
 
Taste works as a placeholder for me, but it isn't exciting enough to launch an album.

I quite like the title, but that's perhaps because I've had well over a decade of most of my female friends going on about their hormones or lack thereof.
 
Taste is fine but the weakest of the releases so far. I’ll be disappointed if that’s the one they’re banking on to launch the album.
 
It washed over me tbh. But then since Shoot From The Hip she’s more someone I want to like more than I actually do, though performance wise she is phenomenal :disco:
 
With her "Spinning Plates" podcast, she's now mostly fun 4 busy mums with an odd glittery titbit thrown to the gays.

The video budget has clearly been slashed, but I suppose something is better than nothing.

 
It's a cute visualiser. Hopefully there is a storming single with video coming pre-album release.
 
The timing with all these releases seems way off for a September release but I’m out of touch so I assume it’s how it’s done these days.
 
The tour started this week in Ireland. Presumably it's to help shift the remaining tickets for those shows as much as album promo.
 
I have to say, the album title hasn't grown on me since the annoucement. It sounds like the punchline to an interview: "and I almost called the album 'Perimonopop'. Can you imagine?!"
 
Sophie was reliably fabulous tonight. Really joyous to see her playing a packed out larger venue compared to previous tours.

Setlist was a good mix, definitely leaning into her festival set era a bit with sadly no room for anything from Trip the Light (or, less surprisingly, Shoot from the Hip).

After her official encore, she did an impromptu acoustic of ’A Pessimist Is Never Disappointed’ from the balcony of the venue. It was lovely, but I did find it quite funny that she ended the show on a balcony sweetly singing “This is the highlight of your MISERABLE LIVES” to the thronged masses below :D
 
Saw her in Oxford last night and loved it, I'm not sure I've ever been to a gig where the performer breaks the set to list facts about the history of publishing in Oxford before :D not really sure what the point of the "random button to select a song from Perimenopop" was about as it seems to have been Dolce Vita every single night :eyes: loved being seemingly the only person there to know a lot of her stuff too :D
 
She did the city facts thing (and the song from the balcony) the last time she was here. I'll be checking to see if she tries to squeeze in any repeats :david:
 
Is there another audience choice thing? And does she bring out that wheel? AND IS BREAKING THE CIRCLE ON IT?
 
It's now a big screen she stands in front of, which 'randomly' selects from about a dozen back catalogue songs that she selects using a buzzer, catchphrase style.

Though as @auretz mentions, it always seems to land on the same song the second time around (New album track La Dolce Vita). First time appears to genuinely be random, or at least she's willing to mix things up with it. We got Wild Forever in Manchester, she did I Won't Change You(!) in Bournemouth and apparently Me & My Imagination has shown up too.
