It was an absolute bear fest in Manchester, but I was quite touched by what seemed to be a loved up straight couple directly in front of us who, at a high energy moment when Sophie commanded us all to jump, started doing what I can only describe as a sort of self-conscious bunny hopping routine.

Having last seen her at a relatively sparsely attended gig in the provinces of Holmfirth, it really was lovely to see her headlining a sizeable and packed out venue this time around.
 
I've still got a post concert glow. That's the fourth tour of hers I've seen, the first being the Read My Lips tour (at the same venue), and she really is just getting better and better. I've said before that the Kylie comparison seems obvious but holds; it feels like she just knows who she is inside out so it always feels completely authentic, knows exactly what the audience wants and needs from her, faultlessly delivers it, and radiates joy throughout.

I forgot to ask @lolly, did you get Take Me Home or Music Gets the Best of Me at your night?

She seems to have alternated them, which is a little odd as one was a much bigger hit than the other!
 
Music Gets The Best Of Me - I think it was early in the set?

I was just assuming Take Me Home was going to be an encore.
 
It was the opener if memory serves. Same as us then. I like both, but it did feel a shame not to get TMH.

I need to know what the sample is, though the risk is once I do know I will find it distracting.
 
But I like this! She hits a lot more than she misses these days.

The song is inspired by the way you feel about yourself when you’re somewhere unfamiliar… You can reinvent yourself and no one knows your story. When I was writing it, I had this little subplot in my head of someone with a criminal past longing to flee and start again somewhere new! But it works too that it’s just the nostalgic pull of a foreign trip where you really got to escape for a little while. I had so much fun writing it in my home studio on a sunny day with Clementine Douglas, Karma Kid and Baz Kaye last year, what a dream team

This whole album campaign remains a complete mess, sadly. I'm interested to hear her thoughts on it once she inevitably exits Universal again, as it's pretty clear being back on a major has really not worked out for her at all.

I think he’s just not used to someone performing in showgirl mode but both were absolutely fine for the song and good that the audience were engaged.
 
After the huge resurgence of Mother on the Dancefloor all over the world, her touring $ucce$$ and signing back with Universal, I thought she’d have a much bigger budget. But visually, this era has been so disappointing: only one music video, poor artwork for the album and singles, super boring and unimaginative visualisers, etc. What’s happening? :manson:
 
I saw her doing an unboxing video of the vinyl on Instagram yesterday and thought it looked really good.

Not that I'm going to buy it physically, good or bad.
 
I thought it looked pretty good on vinyl. It isn't going to look as good on CD or on a small screen.
 
I quite like the video (and she looks fantastic in it), but yes, the song is very average.
 
The new video is a bit of a Wanderlust/Familia throwback, I like it.

Stay On Me works for me too. A slinky little number and she sounds great.

A few good ideas bundled in with a load of pap. The studio scenes are terrible (and non sensical) but the location shots are better and a handful of them quite stunning.
 


The way this album is front loaded with the pre-release tracks just highlights that they definitely went with one or two too many of the light disco affairs in advance of the album.

They definitely should have traded one of them for Layers.

Time and Don't Know What You've Got Until It's Gone are both lovely midtempos. Kind of Today The Sun's On Us type reflectiveness.
