Spice chat 2026

I can't believe they uploaded a 1995 ROUGH demo on Spotify. After all these years. I ain't complaining; it's all so surreal, especially one lead by Victoria
This really double downs that SpiceWorld demos are practically nonexistent.

That Mama demo is a pisstake just like the one for Last Time Lover was, I'd rather a slap on the face or We're Gonna Make It Happen :eyes:

It's nice to see Tell Me Why and If You Wanna Have Some Fun are considered canon, based on the tracklist.

poor Mel has campaigned so hard for a tour and all she gets is a BITTERLY DISAPPOINTED FANDOM :(

Spiceworld only took about twelve minutes longer to record than it takes to listen to it. They were probably one song away from including "Do You Wanna Be In My Gang" so thank goodness for the last tune to be squeezed out, whichever one it was.

That'll be Walk Of Life aka a BANGER. They could have treated us to a voice note similar to the ones Taylor Swift also sells, of GERU on a DICTAPHONE capturing melody and draft lyrics to Stop :disco: but oh well

never heard Take Me Home and omg :disco: imagine making this a b-side when your albums are 4 hot singles + 6x pure filler?

Imagine going on for 30 years without knowing Take Me Home exists and hearing it for the first time :disco: x100

I'll ignore the filler comment when we all know Naked and Love Thing ain't filler, and releasing Mama as a single instead was ragebait.

Aside from Love Thing, the debut really is all about the singles.

Spiceworld however has zero filler and is ridiculously good given it was recorded in a caravan while filming a movie.

GERU wrote STOP on a BED, remember.

If U Can't Dance and Naked are in no way filler. The other songs do let some air in, but it allowed some of the influences pivotal to the so-called more pop songs like Say You'll Be There to come up to the surface more and for their voices (both literally and in terms of their lyrical mission) be heard. I do much prefer the airtight voltage of the 2nd album overall, but the peaks peaked higher first time around chart-wise for a reason.
