Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection

Are we anticipating #1 as a possibility, or do I need to lower my expectations?

I'm not sure who else is out this week, or who else may have a better Glastonbury effect.
Yer man Capaldi played a big gig here and got a good reception at Glasto so I see him being the biggest obstacle. If it’s a guideline there was only 1 copy left in my Tesco in the early evening of the first day of them stocking it.

Capaldi's streaming numbers did for Will Young's admittedly modest sales figures last week.

Kylie has all the fan baiting bundles and the Glastonbury effect for the casuals though, so as Stormzy doesn't seem to be releasing unannounced I can't see her not being number one.

Capaldi managed 19k last week. But I imagine Glastonbury could see him doubling that easily enough.

The bundles plus Glastonbury will surely see her through?

Though I do wonder if STOCKING PROBLEMS might be a genuine thing- will the supermarkets anticipate the inevitable Glasto-rush?

I’ve had to buy the Glasto T-shirt now because it’s looking like it’ll sell out!

But how many copies did they have to start with? It wasn't on especially predominant display in Fopp but they're still doing their whole vinyl sale thing.

She had the top shelf to herself as new release which had the 1 copy in it. She also had two blocks on their chart which were emptied.

HMV here today were well stocked with standard, deluxe and both regular and coloured vinyl.

Quite a lot then. Of the two Tescos I occasionally frequent that once stocked CDs, one has stopped and only has DVDs/BluRays, the other never has any more than three or four copies of any one title.

Currently #4, #10 and #13 on Amazon physical. Capaldi at #1. Let's see where she is after the broadcast ends.

Is she number one GLOBALLY yet? I need some STATS!

Where’s this Glastonbury merchandise at?

I just got my vinyl cassette and deluxe cd it’s lovely

Physicals are at 2, 6 and 15 on Amazon (the vinyl has fallen slightly).

Glasto bounce for The Cure who have a Greatest Hits at no 5 and "Disintegration" at 13. Billie Eilish is up to 4.

Download is at 2. Again, The Cure's GH has bounced to 3, Eilish is at 7.

The Killers hits album has had a major Glasto boost as well but you'll have seen that already.

#1 midweek on Saturday with 13k of pure sales.

Rumours are 21k as of today's midweeks, selling double of Lewis Capaldi.

Presumably Capaldi will have already had a BIT of a bounce by the time of the midweeks.

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

She has a 12k lead on Capaldi. I have no idea if that is insurmountable or not with streaming taken into account.

My mother just called with an urgent STOCKING PROBLEMS alert.

She can't find it in any of the supermarkets.

I think I'd assume 12k is a big enough lead. Her gig was way more high profile than Capaldi.

She's already sold more than he managed in the whole of last week. Did he play Friday or Saturday? Just wondering how much those first midweeks reflect his perf already.

I’d say she is fine - she may be frontloaded but Glasto should keep it higher than otherwise and a few other shows throughout the week. I reckon she’ll manage 30k+, whilst I’d think he will be early 20’s.

Considering Madonna was hugely frontloaded and managed 27k from a similar initial midweek total, surely Glastonbury is going to see her smash 30k. I'm hoping for more like 40k. Plus.

I suppose it's hard to know how much of that midweek total is from the EIGHTEEN EDITIONS purchased by fans beforehand.

The final total will be an interesting one due to the timing of the performance, because you could probably more or less split the midweeks from the final sales to see how much uplift Glastonbury actually gave.

.

I didn’t want to get too excited, but she certainly could do well more. It’s hard to tell - she will still benefit from Glasto today for example, but as Slave said how much of the current sales are looms buying up all the formats which they likely have already done over the first day or two on sale.

Kylie when she sees the midweeks:

xpVfmON.gif

Kylie - 21,312
Lewis - 8,490

Her lead is actually almost 13k. I am sure it will close during the week, but I think she SHOULD hold on! :disco:

Is there anywhere I can watch this again? YouTube seems to be being censored, and I can’t get iPlayer out here

TUESDAY MIDWEEKS

Kylie 23,984 (2,672 yesterday)
Lewis 11,523 (3,033 yesterday)

That's a bit underwhelming. Still, if he can't pick up the pace, he shouldn't topple her.

I’d say it’s a done deal - after 4 out of 7 days, he would need to sell about 6k per day to topple what she should finish with.
