So, I just popped this on for a spin this afternoon, sat at my desk, and yes, it remains a REALLY good pop album, but more than that, it was such a fucking joy to have them back with a set of songs that actually did them credit. I'm still so happy it ever even happened to be honest...

Yes, the reissue could have been a bit better, but it gave us "September Sun", so it was all worth it in the end.

10 Scared Of The Dark
10 You Make Me Whole
08 Story Of A Heart
09 Happy
09 No More Tears On The Dancefloor
10 Firefly
07 Space Between Us
10 Glitter & Gold
10 Neon Blue
10 I Will Love Again

08 Dancing With A Broken Heart
10 September Sun
05 Fool For You
06 Beautiful Battlefield
10 Story Of A Heart (7th Heaven Remix)

A much better comeback than I ever thought they would do after the attempt following The Big Reunion

Scared of The Dark and Neon Blue are Steps Classics for me

Absolutely brilliant. Not a duff track (on the original) and just the JOY of having them properly back was indescribable. The re-issue was a slight case in ‘chuck anything out to them gays’ but still gave us September Sun and the single which is a perfectly adequate track in the cannon.

The three singles from the original (7th Heaven Mix for Story of a Heart) really are a masterclass in how to ‘do’ Steps in the current climate. Mind, the four singles from the latest may actually outdo them even if the album doesn’t.

September Sun is my favourite song from the entire era, but I can't even remember how the other three reissue tracks that weren't DWABH go...

They were pleasant enough but rather disappointing given the original album.

I actually much prefer Delta’s DWABH these days. How they managed to make theirs as the cover sound far more dated than hers :D

Happy and Glitter and Gold are both in my all-time Steps top 5.
