I'm not a HUGE Steps queen, but I love their melancholic sad stuff (ONE FOR SORROW), so I love the sad-banger slant on this. I can instantly see it becoming part of my STEPS TOP 10 (not that I've ever bothered compiling one).

If anything though, I think they have put a donk on it TOO FAR. It could do with being pared back/slowed down ever so slightly. Not even ballad or mid-tempo territory, just a little less FRANTIC.

I see that this is the “single mix” and that there is another version as the final track on the album. Perhaps that one will be a bit more how Sia first envisaged it and a bit less Gaydio.
 
It isn't Scared of the Dark but it is bloody marvellous all the same and that extra chorus over the leaked version is very welcome.

Once you know it is a Sia song it seems obvious but I like that it feels their own in a way that songs from her drawer often don't.
 
I’ve had the leaked version for months but it’s nice to have this in HQ. But giving Lee a verse on his own is a CHOICE. Still I guess it’s nice for him to get a moment. But he sounds so shite!

He doesn't have the most expressive voice but I don't think he sounds any worse than H really. Obviously I would rather Faye got a full verse...

I was at Uni and me my friend listened to it on the radio 2 playback through my headphones. We were beyond excited.

H has got worse over the years. He sounds pretty bad on his verse too. They fucking better not be all over Something In Your Eyes!
 
I’ve decided that Something in your eyes HAS to be a total Faye moment. She’s the one I hear when I imagine it, it totally doesn’t need Claire foghorning over it, let’s alone the verses being ruined by “blocals.”

Still number on iTunes. In at #195 on Apple Music as well. 45k on the audio stream on YouTube as well.

To be honest no idea what this all equates to, and given it’s the last day of the chart week today means it will mean fuck all, but seems like ok enough results?

I'm not that keen on the single to be honest, but I'm happy they're back back back. I may even wheel around to seeing them live again if such things ever actually happen.

I love the song (as someone else mentioned I'm a sucker for a Steps sad banger). I agree it's slightly overproduced but I don't really care, a whole album of this please :disco:

Queen Faye owning the video. The plaits obviously, but the funny arm waving strut for her solo bit :D

LSL doing the absolute most as always, and working that chair. Lee looking better than anyone has a right to in that colour shirt.
 
Agreed on all. Scared of the Dark as a bit ropey in its video, this is much more natural.

Brave of Lisa not to bring her neck along.

Lip syncing to Claire during the chorus is the most passive aggressive thing from Claire, she must be nose scrunching like she's won the lottery.

Lisa is half Cat Slater half egg. I'm not sure if she's being sexy on the chair or finding an angle where her piles won't hurt.
 
The hashtag #WTFH is trending. However, this is at least 60% people pointing out that this actually stands for "what the fucking hell?".
 
Faye's stomp to the front is awkward, another take would have done nicely THERE

That video is everything a Steps video ought to be. And perhaps a little more.

I know it kind of IS the sound of Steps, but I am getting fed up of Claire's voice though. It's fine for her opening verse bit, but it needs to be dialled back in the chorus. But then I've always found Faye much easier to listen to.

I do love Faye too and she's great in the softer moments and Lisa is good at speaking
 
Faye looks like she has a "premium" (for the area) hair salon in Dunstable and drives an Audi.
 
As annoying as H is, I quite enjoy how hard he leans into gay over-performance.

I like the first verse a lot more than the second. I hope they don’t get into the habit of allowing Lee and Lisa to sing.

Justice for H by the way. He's nowhere near as annoying as he used to be, has a strong voice and is living his best gay life.

The contract clause about vocal distribution needs to be tippexed out. There's room for everybody let's just say that but not everybody is a lead vocalist.
 
H is very solid for adding harmonies - but his voice is more musical than pop now and that’s been rather jarring on his solo bits. But at least you don’t have to worry that he‘s going to veer dangerously off-key any second, even on record, like with Lee.
