If she had stage 3 cancer and it has now been found somewhere else does that mean it is now at stage 4? Or am I reading the article wrong?

When she was first diagnosed I think Amy said it was grade 3 rather than stage 3, I'm not sure if the reporting has got muddled or she ever confirmed this.
 
Am I right in thinking that Neil has only ever had one partner in all the years he's been doing Strictly? And that they went out first?

Neil had Alex Jones and they made the quarters? He was injured for 2 of those weeks mind. He partnered Nina Wadia and they were first out.

Also the Mirror are saying that Neil does not have a partner after all. Normal service resumed.
 
Pre-recorded pairing up show on now. I have avoided spoilers, except which dancers are sitting out.

Looking forward to Jessie too.

I love Strictly but this launch show could easily lose at least twenty minutes.
 
Have to say I did not foresee a lot of these couples being matched up.

Nancy won't be making the semi finals three years in a row.
 
As ever it is difficult to take too much from that first dance (especially as they seem to be given varying amounts to do in their spotlight moments).

I thought Nigel looked very good, Annabel possibly the best of the women, Layton gave a big performance as expected. A great fuss will no doubt be made of Eddie's hips. Angela S and Ellie looked to be very game but the other two younger women seemed quite unsure of things. Adam Thomas might be a little rhythmically challenged, poor Luba hasn't caught a break.
 
Adam looked way out of his depth, as did Krishnan to be fair. Eddie looked good too. Angela R looked like she had balance issues.
 
I very much enjoyed that, as launch eps go. I'm so happy this show is back.

I was excited to see Lauren get a partner - she seemed fab last year - though I'd have deffs given Nadia a partner again and left maybe Luba on the bench instead.

I find Nigel Harman deeply unappealing, but assuming he's a housewives and nans' favourite, then his dance training combined with the MIGHTY KATYA could see him go far.

i found Layton infinitely more appealing as soon as he was paired with Nikita. Johannes and Annabel feels like the most instantly likeable couple.

Yes I agree that Lauren stood out in her supporting role last year and it seems she will be a good fit personality wise. Krishnan doesn't have obvious ability but he has come across as very charming.

I don't really understand the Nadiya demotion either. She's the most gorgeous dancer, especially in ballroom. According to the tabloids she was blindsided by the decision and demanded crisis meetings with production :D

I assumed that Layton would get maybe Graziano or Kai as he said he wanted to be thrown around, but I'm interested to see what Nikita does with him.
 
That's relatable thinking from Layton. Though when I think about how I'd do in that situation I always think of Alan Carr saying that if he did Strictly he'd not be able to dance with a man because he'd always "get a lob on". I'd perhaps have to opt for Neil to be on the safe side :(

I read the tabloids reporting that Nadiya had been DEMOTED due to her AGE, completely ignoring the fact that Karen is still there and has like 5 years on her.
 
Good that it is up on last year. The launch show is always below the series proper, but the 2022 figure does seem to have been very low.
 
Last year's series was given a tough time by (a) the Queen pegging it the week before (so the launch show got bumped from the Sat to the following Friday), and then (b) the bloody World Cup being on in November and December, meaning later shows got moved around.

That's right, I forgot about the launch being shifted to Friday.

Although this has brought back deeply upsetting memories of Anton's tight trousers detailing the fine contours of his heaving erection during that dance with Fiona Fullerton.
