Krishnan is very charming and more fun to watch than Les.

I worry slightly that he'll do an underwhelming ballroom and won't get the vote next week.

A fun dance from the new dancer Lauren, and Krishnan Guru Murthy

Edit: not closing dance 😅

CORSETED COLIN/Nigel excellent, though the cape wafting bordered on cringe.

Katya is going to be in her element this year.

Ellie and Vito's dance was the one I felt moved to rewatch so I guess they win the night for me on pure dance joy.

And you could say he possibly gave it a little too much, since he wasn't dancing with a pro, but you have to love Vito dancing all out on that Jive.

That felt REALLY LONG but I still had a lovely time.

Surprised by my early favourites: Angela Rippon, Bobby, Annabel, Layton and Ellie. All people I did not expect to give a fuck about (although a lot of the latter is down to Vito's lovely arms)

I think Angela Scanlan, Bobby and Annabel feel most like contenders. Probably Nigel Harman too, but he gives me the ick so I'm hoping enough of middle england will feel the same.

I like Annabel but feel she's a bit posh to get the masses voting. Although she does seem like she can dance so lets hope she's more SEB and less Susannah Constantine

Nigel doesn't give me the ick, but definitely a mild cringe. Surely a Strictly voter favourite though.

Bobby has the most liked video on the Strictly Instagram at about 25k currently with Nigel at 21k.

Ellie, Layton, Angela Rippon and Adam (! - though obviously his video was first up) all around the 12-13k mark.

I actually don't think there's anyone in the cast I dislike. I didn't like Bobby at first because he was FAR too young and enthusiastic for my tastes, but he actually dropped a banger of a dance.

His EE character is very likable and I presume he's playing an extended version of himself. He'll be a MUMS FAVE BECAUSE JADEZ BOY DID GOOD.

Apparently he wants his couple's choice to be a dance to This Woman's Work. I'm torn between wanting to see a couple dance to that and wanting him to get the boot well before he has the chance, because that's a series winner right there and we don't need another Ecuador on our hands.

I saw someone on twitter request a gay Argentine Tango to Parachute, and I can't quite get the idea out of my head.

Ellie was the most surprising by far - which, let's face it, is not what you would necessarily have expected. I thought she'd be clunky and slow, but she had brilliant pace and pulled off what looked like a technically difficult dance. Obviously Vito's mere presence elevates it some more. She definitely seemed to have experience, can't remember if it was mentioned.
Adam Thomas was the exact opposite, but you'd imagine he'll trudge along for a few weeks at least.

Angela Rippon...well yes she's 78, but I did think that was quite overmarked in what felt almost pre-planned judging. Definite flashes of her ability though and good for her I guess.

Nigel doesn't come across as ringery as expected. Seemed pretty solid without being perfect. I can't work out if he's going to appeal to voters or not though personality wise.

Amanda was pretty spectacular.

Seems like a good year.

Tess repeating what the judges say remains one of the worst aspects of it all

Harman would be one of the biggest ringers they have ever had, surely. He was in the original Mamma Mia cast and has been in musicals over the years since.

I doubt anything will top Ashley Roberts in the ringer stakes. Not that I wasn't glad for it.

If I remember that was also the Faye Tozer year who, in any other series, would probably have been singled out far more, but the fact there was another female, even more skilled dancer + American in the cast, probably gave her a free pass.

After two days of melodrama too ridiculous for even me, I am watching Strictly live to just emotionally whoopy cushion back to reality.

First dance. Didn't watch much of it. The brazier boy is much too annoying and insincere for me. I will now watch his partner carefully to see if she wants to kill him yet.

I don't think the Charleston suited Bobby in the same way the Foxtrot did.

Unfortunately for Annabel the camera was right there for a close-up for the most obvious of her panicked moments.

Tess has never looked better.
