They're well aware of the paradox that the Daily Mail brigade are both their biggest critics AND their biggest demographic for their twee nonsense like Strictly, Call The Midwives, Countryfile etc.

It probably shouldn't be a surprise they would allow this, especially with their "politically objective" mandate. I don't like it, but without Skinner ACTUALLY going full blown Nazi, barring him from this would undermine the Beeb completely.

It's gross but I get all that - unfortunately.

Also offensive are his constant made up stories normally involving conversations with taxi drivers or mates down the pub that absolutely didn't happen. He's started falsifying screenshots of texts as well. All the signs of someone slowly crawling down the rabbit hole of "saying shit online to stay relative" and a strictly slot just feeds into it and makes it all the more rapid.
 
Love a bit of Vicky so that’s fab. Surprised at Skinner but I guess they do have to be impartial, so hopefully he gets a shit run.

Since the last cancellation announcement, Jackie Woodburne has been made to work with Kym Marsh on a 5 drama, and now Stefan has been thrown into a room with Thomas Skinner.

What next - Karl Kennedy supporting a Lulu tour? :(
 
I'm assuming this is also where the Imbruglia and Delta Goodrem rumours came from. Someone heard the Neighbours theme playing in the BBC studios and got overexcited?
 
They could still have Natalie on. Delta Goodrem is not exactly a household name and I would argue she has stronger links to Neighbours.
 
The Delta rumours always felt odd anyway.

She's largely forgotten over here, and has shown little interest in changing that since the Brian McFadden fall-out. But she's still a fairly big name in Australia, capable of scoring #1 albums and decent TV gigs. Unless the BBC overpaid for her (and why would they), I imagine coming back here to do reality TV would feel like a step down for her. Better being a celebrity at home than a non-entity overseas.
 
Yeah completely - she’s a household name down under and her music does rather well here for her Radio 2 crowd (she tours relatively regularly Europe), so it would seem a silly move for her. Still her and Nat both on it would be fabulous - more for middle aged gays, but still.

I'm usually of the mind that the Strictly line up is what it is but can't help but feel this is a weak crop.

And have they had problems casting female celebs again? Only six in the line up. Obviously La Voix will be dancing with a male pro, and I assume Kristian too.

The 'quality' in terms of recognition doesn't really bother me as I don't think it matters in the slightest once the series starts. I'm just surprised they didn't hold back at least one of the stronger names until the end.
 
I'm here for Ross King purely to observe the hair and make-up to keep him looking for fresh and young.

The Onslow guy doesn't look familiar to me even after reading GoT.

I do like Vicky, but cannot abide podcasts that are just the equivalent of people purposefully talking too loud in a public space.
