Strictly 2025

Rather inevitably, Stefan's first dance is apparantly to

the Neighbours theme.

I fully imagine they have Down Under lined up for week 2.
Down Under was only used last year, also by Dianne with Chris.

Amber is perhaps the ringiest ringer that ever rung, so she seems likely to face a few dance offs like she did on Dancing on Ice.

I would also imagine in terms of "demographic", Vicky eats up some of the Amber/Dani votebase, unless she turns out to be a terrible dancer (unlikely). She'll have more personality.

I am sure Amber will have a rougher ride of it than Lewis. Coming in late might take the heat off her for a while though.

She started off strong on DoI, as you might expect having a dancing background, but the actual skating didn't seem to come on that much.

Loved the opening number. It took me a bit to realise who Anton was dancing with.

Dame Shirley dancing up a storm with Vito (in a pair of pleasingly form fitting trousers).

I can only assume there is some rugby related reason why they've lumped them with Unbelievable for a Samba.

Katya getting a firm ticking off from Shirley for the kitchen sink approach. It was a bit wild but he is unsurprisingly very good.

Got a feeling we are going to be hearing 'never danced before' quite a bit in relation to George. If I were inclined to put a bet on the winner I'd probably go with him.

I’m a little bit behind. Thought Lewis wasn’t quite as good as expected although definitely potential, but he was overmarked by the judges.

His legs were quite wild. Katya probably does need to simplify things and get the technique down but it is not really her wont and it is early days to be fair.

Jimmy was pretty good. A distracting expression in hold but Lauren should get some great routines out of him.

Balvinder has potential too and like Julian as well. I read he auditioned in 2022, glad he got in eventually.

Thought La Voix was a bit sticky until the comedy bit.

La Voix very good at live tv - could end up being a good move casting her as the first drag queen. Can see her going quite far

Karen looked decent on the launch show but wasn't expecting her to be THAT good. She's very likeable too.

The Jive is quite a specific dance though, hopefully it transfers to ballroom and the other Latin dances.

I thought they were going to say they would defer to public vote.

The OTT reactions they got from the celebs to this news in the VT though :D

Yes Balvinder felt the most hard done by to me. Shirley apparently thought YKW was one point better

I wasn't sure how they were going to pitch the scoring with Ellie but I did think they might be a bit more generous.

Balvinder getting about the same than that FOUL PIG was revolting. She certainly had potential.

I suspect they're probably being kind to him, because he's had a rough few weeks with online abuse, BUT HE'S ONLY BROUGHT IT ON HIMSELF.

He'll likely have some staying power with the hard right vote, but he's just SO SHIT.

There was a bit during the later scoring where Ellie looked OK, but Karen and I think Jowita were fussing over and comforting her.

I haven't watched the show, but what I read on X was very much critical of the judges patronising Ellie.

Hopefully with the lack of phone voting this year, some of the Boomers won’t be voting as much. But that’s unfair on Boomers really. They’re not entirely to blame these days.

6.2 million in the overnights. The lowest ever overnight ratings for the show but still an absolute triumph I would say in this climate.

To be fair she looked like she was struggling with the long show, and the dancers were just being kind. But the awwws and the way the judges spoke to her was just patronising.
