Why are the Beeb largely considering ITV presenters?

Out of that lot, I'd only consider Carr, Jones, Scanlan and Ball. Alison Hammond is great but you get the feeling she would overshadow most of the contestants.
 
I wouldn't believe the list, to be honest. But most big stars tend not to have golden handshake contracts these days, do they? So of course they may well front ITV shows. And of course the BBC are likely to be considering the biggest names out there.
 
Post-Blackpool, George seems to have adopted a "f**k it I'm just going to have as much fun as possible" attitude, and it's probably the only thing saving him right now as he's never keeping up with the others on technical skill.

A Karen victory feels increasingly sewn-up at this point though.
 
That was great but it is effectively going to be a showdance two weeks running for Amber.
 
The only way I can think we avoid a Bal vs Amber dance off is if George fluffs his Charleston AND is second to Karen in public votes AND no judge tied scores.

Which is very possible mind.
 
George's dance has a vote winning theme I think and it looks like he has a decent swivel from the training footage.
 
Karen is LOVELY. But the scoring feels a tad OTT tonight for both dances. They are absolutely fuelling the inevitable conspiracy theory of the show giving her a deliberate winners edit.

That might also have sealed the Amber vs Bal dance off, with Amber now second in the judges scores.
 
Karen's probably my least preferred option to win at this point. Not that she's unworthy as such, but if we're voting on ability it should unquestionably be Amber, and if we're voting on entertainment I'd give it to George.
 
I'd love for Bal to be safe from the dance off just for the pure CHAOS!
 
She'd have to beat not just Amber but also George in the vote. Is that remotely feasible without Eastenders loons paying a hacker?

Her most likely shot at staying is actually Amber falling down the stairs.

They're setting themselves up for failure if they just aim for a lesser version of Tess or Claudia. For the same reason, Alex Jones and Holly would be poor choices. Go for something new. Carr is probably the strongest candidate there. I could see Walsh working on the floor maybe, but not the auditorium and I doubt he'd be a Moopy fave either way.

Really? I don't see that. They'd both be there to play the "comforting posh mum" role down on the dancefloor, played off against a more exuberant and kooky co-host.

One million percent. Amanda is quite POTTY MOUTHED. If anything I would say she would be playing the kooky role. Have you never watched her and Alan Carrs show, or even BGT for that matter?

BGT of course! Not the Carr show admittedly. She's never hugely impressed me on the former, so maybe I've missed the more fun side to her on the latter. Although I don't think potty mouths will be allowed to shine forth on safe old Strictly.

A million percent no. It was more the comparison of her and Tess Daly that confused me somewhat.
