Interesting how the correlation between winners and those averages isn't actually THAT strong.
If anything it's skewed even more by the fact that the judges scores in the finals are often over-inflated when suddenly every contestant gets 10s across the board. Would Karen or George, for instance, have been on that first page before last night?
It affirms that for all the hand-wringing this year, nobody should really have surprised that neither Amber or Lewis had the public support.
