Strictly 2026

I think ITT's biggest problem is that it's on five days a week. It ain't essential. A show and podcast going live on the Sunday night or Monday, and another on the Friday night ahead of the weekend show(s) is surely enough. BBC Two can just stick House of Games repeats on the rest of the time

Whenever I've seen it in past years I've always enjoyed it more than I've expected to, but new presenters doesn't feel like a bad thing. Of the two, I felt Fleur was stronger. I also enjoy the pro challenge but that could and should be a social thing.

Interesting that Gorka's rumoured departure has not been announced yet. Maybe he is sticking around after all?

There's actually a lot of changes happening beyond Claudia and Tess leaving which I'm surprised but happy at.

I hope they can get some decent names this year.

I'd love a set upgrade too, the last one was approx 15 years ago. It looks pretty lo-fi compared to the US one these days, and I'm sure they could keep it looking like Strictly while moving to a proper big screen and shunting Dave Arch's band to the side.

Wasn't AJ a professional on Strictly? How is he on that as an 'up and coming dancer'?!
Yes, it would seem a bit of a humiliation to me to have to do that, but I suppose the potential prize is great.

I wonder if a lot of the up and comers will be ex pros from various international versions.

Zoe as the sole main presenter and Angela or Rylan in Claudia's role would be ideal.

I fear It'll end up being Bradley Walsh now that The Chase has wrapped filming for a year.

Angela and Tom would be enough for me to not watch. Absolutely dreadful.

I'm very disappointed at that batch trying to fish out a possible pair. Some of those names are just so grimly inevitable. Absolutely none of them have me curious. It is worth me remembering that I also detested both Bruce and Tess and still managed.

Alison would be a delight, but I still feel she'd need someone with a lot of experience along with her (who also doesn't come across as competing with her like Dermot did). So I'd probably choose Alison and Bradley if I had to. Zoe is just a nervous overload without the payoff. Fleur should stay on It Takes Two, and if they truly are considering her, should have brought her in to read the phone lines being open bit a few times to give her a sense of placement and re-kindling her history on the main show with the viewers.

I love Alison, but not for this. I see/want Zoe Ball and someone...I'd quite like to see her as the lead then someone with a more comedy background in Claudia's role - i have a feeling it could be Rylan but it would be good if they went a bit more leftfield

Rylan would genuinely be enough for me to not watch

In fact someone go and find Amanda Holden STAT, I take everything back!

Oh that is PLEASING NEWS

I'd previously heard a terrible rumour that Nadine Baggot, Beauty Editor had been found in 2022 DROWNED head-down in a giant barrel of pentapeptides

Luckily her face absorbs them almost instantly, they simply replenish her sandpaper skin back to the texture of a yoghurt and keep her camera ready even when it looks like she's drowning and Angela G is too busy looking at her cue cards to bother rescuing her.

Zoe and Rylan work best from that list. I really hope it's not Bradley Walsh :zombie:

OOPS :(

Hate to see him go but love to watch him leave or something.

It is at least implied he'll be doing the Spanish judging job again and I guess he can fill his time with more thrilling reality shows and podcasts with Gem.

Awh. Thats really sad. That’s hard. I’m sorry about that. That’s a long time and a lot to let go of. I hope they will both be ok.

I wonder if his diary is free for Celebs Go Dating 2027.

I'd much prefer a bag of nerves Tess on This Morning than Cat (if she's still around anyway).

The press seem pretty sure on Emma, apparently in the Tess role, with Zoe still sounding more like a best guess. Josh Widdicombe's name was being thrown around a few days ago.

I would be pleased with Emma, she's a likeable, safe pair of hands.

Yeah I think she'd be a good pick - as would Zoe I think, though Josh might be a slightly more interesting option for the mix.

Emma and Zoe would be bland overload for me. Emma is nice and I'd object less to her than Zoe who I find a bit dithery. A flat no to the guy.

You are in luck - apparently she was on Jo Whiley's podcast and said the following:

Zoe said: 'I didn't get it, but it's OK.'

She continued: 'I have worked through the seven stages of grief and rejection over the last couple of days.

Oh MY - that's refreshingly open. Fair fucks to her.

I'd have been up for Emma and Zoe together, although revisiting an It Takes Two presenter would be looking backwards for the show. Of the names rumoured so far I think I'd want Angela Scanlon or Alison Hammond alongside Emma, though I'm not anti Josh Widdecombe in this scenario.

With Emma in the mix, I think whoever they get now will be better than the OG pairing of Bruce and Tess.

Bruce always felt like he was on a wing and a prayer - watching him used to make me tense.

Meanwhile the Daily Mail has decided to pap someone Vernon Kaye was texting with 16 years ago. 16 minutes ago would seem like ancient history for Grindr, who remembers 16 weeks ago - 16 years - fuck off!

That's kind of only leaving Alison Hammond and Josh Widdicombe in the mix of the names mentioned..

Oh, forgot about Bradley. I mean, as long as it's not his charisma free son.
