There is speculation that he may be a third wheel 'roving reporter' alongside the main presenting duo.

I really think that additional padding is the last thing the show needs.
 
I wonder if he'll be more It Takes Two than main show? I'd be more inclined to watch (/listen if it's going podcast-y) to that if it's presented by him. Especially if he's still part of the main show via pro group numbers, and it gets a more genuine behind-the-scenes feel as a result.
 
I like Josh as a comedian and podcast personality but not sure about this.

But also I don’t think he’d do it if he knew it wasn’t working either.

And I’ll enjoy more stories on Parenting Hell about how fucking knackered he is.
 
The initial reaction is not positive, but after the screen tests/chemistry tests those in the running apparently went through they must have been impressed with Josh and Emma together.

Claudia's shoes are so hard to fill that whoever was chosen there would likely be a vocal disatisfied group. They've gone for someone quite different, which may not be a bad idea. I hope it works out.
 
The bad reaction is just gays on X, right. They're going to keep watching. And to use the BOOK OF STATS, based on two separate straight women I know being fans of his various podcasts I expect he's a decent choice for the mainstream public. That's if he's not shit when they go live of course.

It's an older presenter line-up than I'd have expected, mind. Not a good or bad thing.

Fair play to Rylan. Like Zoe he was assumed to be a favourite, probably more so than most of the other names apparently in the mix.

I'm wait and see how this roving reporter business works out, but Johannes at least starts from a place of goodwill on the show, which will hopefully go in his favour.
 
Yeah I think the having an element that keeps it in the family is such an important brand element of all of this - goodwill is everything
 
I like Emma so can't complain. She's safe, she's stunning, she's professional. I don't think Josh is that safe so they have mixed it up a bit. Although their dynamic is going to be key so will have to see how they all are together as a three.I am guessing Johannes, or Josh may be taking a more backstage role
 
I'm so relieved it's not Rylan. I just don't think he's a talent, and he's so low rent.

This is classy casting in Emma and Johannes, with a dose of non-threatening-heterosexual-relatability in Josh. I'd have loved for Sara Cox to be in the mix but I'm not mad about this, assuming the chemistry test did strike on something worth watching.

I think it could work well! Josh Widdecombe is a bit random haha but he's not bad, and seems to work well with Emma and Johannes; hopefully 3 for Strictly is a magic number. 😊🎶 🪩
 
He does, and he looks gooood, but I just get the sense he'd be like a wet fish in actual sexy bed. Oh lets play video games! Hahaha I love Minions! et cet - when what you really want is to be ruined.
 
Also it was the last show of the pro tour tonight. They have an instant dance 'improvised' section featuring two of the pros and appropriately tonight it was the departing Gorka and Luba:



Also Luba did a farewell speech and was joined by all the other pros on stage.
 
That feels a little inevitable

Without any evidence whatsoever, you'd presume she might have hoped for a promotion to the main show
 
She hosted the live tours as well... though it is a separate arrangement, you wouldn't imagine they will keep her on for that either.
 
The dancers are just like old horses, left at the bottom of a field and eventually shot. It's a HARSH HARSH SHOWBIZ WORLD.
