Sugababes™

Yeah Love In Stereo would have changed the vibe up nicely and given HerSerene a nice shimmery pop moment. Only You too, though I don’t think that was on the original tracklisting. I really miss Too In Love as well.

As much as I love them all, No Regrets, Today, Victory and I’m Alright are fairly similar thematically at least - defiant, I’m in a better place now, etc. And they’re all in a row! 🥴

Very true about lyrical themes and tracklist grouping.

I also miss "Too In Love" but with this Deluxe business... maybe not for too much longer. Fingers crossed they do a Super Deluxe or CD only bonus tracks.

Seven previous studio albums by Sugababes reached the Top 20 with two of them reaching No.1 but The Lost Tapes – which dropped digitally on Christmas Eve, features the act’s original line-up and was recorded between 2012 and 2014 – makes a muted debut at No.150 (1,108 sales).

Was it expected to do better? Should've released a few vinyl variants and it would've been top 20.

a muted debut? :D fuck off OCC. written by the same gay intern who's always banging on about giving the pop girls their "flowers" too.

Just noticed that Today has been put on the US New Music Friday playlist but nothing on the UK one. Random.

The UK playlist seems to be the same as last week's, I don't think they have updated for the barrage of new releases.

Well I mean this isn’t a new point but what WAS the expectation?
The number of acts who can “do a Beyoncé” I could probably count on one hand, during the Christmas period probably even fewer.

No single, no warning, no physical, that’s not a comparable release for a legacy act, certainly not comparable in any meaningful way with their 2000s albums.

Please tell me these girls didn't wait ten years to release this album and then they go ahead and release a Deluxe version less than a week later

Queens of trolling their fanz :basil:

They are actually the most ridiculous act ever with every decision they every make. I love that about them in a way :D

Oh this is an interesting version of Breathe Me.

Back To Life was serviceable.

Apparently Summer of ‘99 has been cleaned up and sounds clearer/more like the demo version now.

Only You is pretty good, spoken word aside. but Back to Life is the one. that chorus is magical and stunning, it's the best song on the whole set.

it's definitely better mastered! in that the chorus doesn't drop into a SWAMP now.

It’s almost as if it’s a MASSIVE MONEYGRABBING CON, but…

Breathe Me is so muddy, it sounds like an unmastered leak. I'm desperate for it to have a bit of space and be cleaner because there's something really good beneath!

They are SNATCHING that £0.0008 per stream

Downloads, no?

You don’t just do a deluxe edition a few days after the release of the standard album if it wasn’t planned that way from the start.

Admittedly, it’s not MUCH of a money grab considering sales are in the toilet, but still…

Yeah it was planned - they alluded to it in the original IG post but come on, they just wanted an extra few retweets from 17 gays a week later 🥴 And the new songs are available to download individually

But if they do want to release some vinyls with M K and S covers my money is ready and waiting to be grabbed

The only £££ would be from the number of people who will bought the digital album last week, who then decide to buy the whole remastered album again, rather than just the extra tracks, won't it? Would that even be three figures?

That isn’t the point.

You reckon they remastered the whole thing in between the standard and deluxe?

COME ON!
