Sugababes

god that tiny clip sounds HOT. I smell a big pop banger incoming.

It’s got a heavy sample right? I Feel Love vibes off the chart

I'm hearing "Funkytown." The Isley Brothers received a nod in "Weeds."

I heard Funkytown too. The production sounds very Gaga.

Sounds like a banger though. I'm still loving Jungle. Been slowly introducing their catalog to my American friends.

it's called Shook and it's out next Wednesday

clip of the chorus on this ig post if you click through

I wish I hadn’t heard 64% of it already but :disco:

perhaps missing a classic middle 8 and it's over very quickly but... big bop. well done ladies.

I like it but think it’s the most generic of the 3 new tracks and feels a little lightweight for this incarnation…

**reserves right to completely u-turn by tomorrow**

a common thread across all three singles is that Mut really owns them. vocally she's on exquisite form.

It's the weakest of the three, but that's easily done given how :disco: Weeds and Jungle were.

It's a Sweet 7 track yes, but also the best Sweet 7 track.

Were all those noises really necessary

The most filler-sounding track so far. Still a good listen though. But I can see it getting tired very quickly.

(When The Rain Comes)
1 Jungle
2 Weeds
3 Shook

I like ‘After 20 seconds I get bored easily’ and ‘heaven in a t shirt and some new Nikes’ and the chorus but that’s it

Edit: oh and Mutya’s shoooOOoOOooOoook yeah-ye at the end

Anyway I agree it isn't quite as good as the previous two, but it is a lot of fun and I am sure I will be playing it plenty.

Do we know whether the album is actually finished now? Three songs in feels like they should be announcing it.

Last time they had an album finished they waited 10 years to release it so I wouldn’t bet on anything with this lot.

I do quite enjoy the curiosity that is Radio 2 these days. With Radio 1 insistent that their remit is exclusively 18 year olds born on a full moon in August, it leaves Radio 2 with far too big a market to cover.

And so you have them wanting to push Sabrina Carpenter, Jade and the Sugababes doing fun-for-Soho-dive-bars, whilst there is still a dour octogenarian committee member harrumphing about Van Morrison's 275th record and Paul Sodding Weller.

You really might as well just put Spotify on shuffle.
