We're going to go see it when we go see Madonna in October. Or November 🤔

I'm off work today and have had a lovely breakfast with my brother and his kids, then I went for a stroll down to the beach. It's so pretty in the sunshine.


There was a fight in Ryde 2 nights ago, a drunken 1am type thing, a few men, a few punches.

The police closed off the whole main street for over ten hours, stopping access to all the local shops and cafes, on a Saturday 🤦🏻‍♀️

Locals were commenting on FB about how "the island is as dangerous as LA now days" 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
 
Yes, it's a pain. I was worried about the rail strike but was then relieved when it looked like we avoided that. Then about 15 minutes before the train was due we were told there may be delays due to engineering works. Train arrived on time, but never left the station. Initially they said 90 minute delay, then 2 hours. The train after had already been cancelled and the train was rammed.

Just checked and it ended up being cancelled entirely.

They will refund the rail fare, but I very much doubt that they will do any more than that. I'll check the small print though.
 
Oh no Lolly, I am so gutted for you. Hopefully you are planning on doing something else fun so the day isn’t a complete wash out.
 
Did you not get the ticket insurance? I’m pretty sure it covers travel disruption.

No. Do people actually do that? Yes, I guess they must.

I just thought I'd buy the tickets and then change to coach if we had to, if the rail strikes were on that day. I didn't even consider a problem on the day itself.

As much as it's a bitter pill now, I've never taken out ticket insurance, and this is the first time I've lost out, so I must be up over all.

I'll certainly give it at least a moment's thought next time, though..!
 
Vera said to me the other day that she has got an awful hankering for a FISH SUPPER but hasn’t had one in an age so she is coming up here later this afternoon with a selection of CHIP SHOP GOODS. I am paying for the food, she is picking it up which means I can polish off a bottle of red this afternoon.

I had to fight off a husband and wife, the husband had a shotgun, the wife looked like Jane Lynch, she had a spatula and I stabbed her in the back of the neck with a fork so she bled out :gross:

Got up early to go to the CAVES because the bus is only every few hours or something silly.

JUST noticed at the last moment that the bus would stop on the other side of the road.

But the bus goes INTO town after that so I could get a seat easily, not like the mooks getting on now. Advantage Diddy 😏
