Hey hey.

I got nothing. I'm down to random shortwave radio sounds and old Mock The Week episodes on Netflix.
 
Mr F's at work again today. We have this agreement that I have a lie-in if I want to when he's working on a Sunday and he gets a taxi to work. I got up at 7.30 and it got to 8.22 (he leaves for work at 8.30) so I asked whether he'd rung his taxi yet. He said he hadn't because I said last time that if I was up I'd drive and save the tenner taxi cost so I had to leg it upstairs and throw some clothes on (no bra), drag a brush through my hair and tie it up. I assume that he thought I was going to drive him in my pyjamas which would never happen, ever. It was very disconcerting driving over speedbumps with my unfettered jubblies jiggling, won't be doing that again.
 
Walked 14 miles yesterday on a trail around country pubs. Today involves sofa and cricket.

Also my stomach just rumbled and dog thought it was thunder. Ha.
 
It has been pretty TRAGIC in here this week, no?

I blame the end of Love Island.
 
I'm in Worthing. It's like a slightly more upmarket Weston-Super-Mare.
 
Now that means nothing to me. Can we meet in the middle? Probably in Wolverhampton or somewhere.

But WHY? I mean of all that coast to choose from! Although I imagine you can probably get a lot more for your £ property wise.

She’s got a bit of cock but he lives in Eastbourne or somewhere else bizarre on that side so they’re moving halfway between.

Which is pointless as they end up with no friends at all where they live and it’ll all either end in DOOM AND TEARS or MARRIAGE AND KIDS.

Either way, I’m obviously FURIOUS about it.
 
I had a wonderful day yesterday at the Edinburgh fringe.

Any of the Scottish contingent really do need to go see Chris Parker. He was brilliant and right up Moopy’s street.

I’m also just home. :angel:

It was SUCH a lovely day for the Fringe yesterday :disco:

I haven't had a day at the Edinburgh festival in years, mainly because weekends are hell and it's impossible to get a day off during the week in August in our place (because parents).
 
The spawn turned up for a surprise visit. I'd done all my chores early and was just about to sit down, eat my egg butties and watch crap telly all afternoon. As she's binge-watched the first two series of Handmaid's Tale this week and the first four episodes of series 3 have gone from All4 I allowed her to watch episodes 1 and 2 because I hadn't deleted them from TiVo yet. It was ace having somebody to comment with whilst watching it. I attempted to forbid her AGAIN from buying me a new laptop for my birthday, alas it was too late because she had it in her car boot. One day that child will listen to me and buy me something that I ask for instead of something stupidly expensive that I expressly forbade her to buy me.

It really was a lovely day. You went to a lot of shows, what was your favourite?

I was just chatting to that Tom Lenk guy on Tinder but he wouldn’t tell me what shows he was playing. But someone handed me his flyer yesterday and I was like OH. :D

His show was a bit shoddy to be honest! :D Tilda Swinton is the better show and I’d recommend that highly!

Cruel Intentions was fun but Table Manners was the absolute highlight. SO GOOD.

I think I’ll need to come back through for a few more shows!

I begged and pleaded to not have a surprise party or anything like that. Whilst the one they threw for my 40th was great and I appreciated it I'm extremely uncomfortable being the centre of attention. The spawn is coming the Saturday after and we're going to TGI Fridays for tea then it's my brother's barbecue on the Sunday which is usually a joint party for me, my niece and nephew whose birthdays are the day after mine. My sister couldn't come to my 40th because she was in labour with said nephew.

Basically I love parties for other people but the thought of one being thrown just for me makes me nauseous.

Believe it or not I am also not very keen on having a “surprise” party. It is just too much effort to go around and thank everyone for coming and to make time for everyone that it generally leaves little time to the enjoy the event yourself. That sounds lovely, and make sure you enjoy as you are only 50 once. Just over 4 years and I shall be joining you.

That's the only surprise party I've ever had, the stress of it all meant I was bladdered within an hour and once I get drunk I turn into Sweary Mary. That's all well and good for most of my family who know I'm the happy, singing drunkard but it was a bit of a shock for my gran who'd never seen me drunk or heard me swear when she told me off for smoking in front of her (jokingly) and I grinned, said "oh gran, life's too fucking short" and stuck the v-sign up at her before walking off.

I don't think I've had a party since my 16th birthday.

I remember my mum made individual jellies. Mortifying. It's probably no wonder I've never enjoyed any party since.
