I think it’s widely accepted the rice draws out the moisture from the phone. I’ve done it before and noticed the rice is damp after a while.

Well yeah you put a wet phone in it!
This is not something I want to argue with anyone about but yes it’s widely accepted but also repeatedly debunked!
