Sunday isn’t bitter

I'm listening to "Journal For Plague Lovers", the album Manic Street Preachers made with the lyrics Richard Edwards gave them just before he disappeared. It's actually an excellent album but I can see why they never play anything from it live. It's an odd set of writings and suggest his thoughts were racing at such a speed that they were fragmenting.

In non cat related news, my new soup maker is amazing!!
Why is it so good? What does it actually DO that saves you so much time?

There's something inherently satisfying about making soup - I'm not sure I need it to be made slightly quicker by a gadget.

It takes 20 minutes from start to finish to make soup. I don't have to cook it in a pan for ages and then blitz it, this machine does it all. So when I get in from work at 7pm, it's made in 20 mins!

Does it peel and chop veg? Can you roast in it?

I don't peel my veg so that's not an issue. And I roughly chop.

For me, it's time saving and convenient.

Ooh plus it makes smoothies.

It doesn't roast either then?

I just don't think it's worth it for me for the sake of saving 10 - 15 minutes or so in a saucepan and about a minute with a stick blender. It will just end up sitting in a cupboard.

Plus what sort of capacity do they have? I love making a huge batch and freezing it.

No, I have an oven or air fryer for roasting. This is just for soup, because boiling veg on the stove to a soft consistency is boring. And blitzing is boring. And I have to dirty a pan and my blender. Meaning I use more water and time to wash up.
This is a time, electric, and water saver :disco:

I think this makes a litre, definitely enough for 3 big meals or 4 small.

For me, as I get home late, it's easy and quick.

If I get home late, it's a carton of soup in the microwave :D

🤣 That was going to be my next option if I couldn't be arsed getting a soup maker.

Next on my list of gadgets to buy is a Velvetiser :disco:

Oh I had one of them. Used it two or three times, then gave it to mum. Think she's used it the same and now it's at the back of one of her cupboards.

Oh see I did think I'd probably not use it much. Does it make good hot chocolate?

Interesting.

When my cupboards aren't full of heathcliff related food and health things, I'll have more room for more gadgets!
