Sunday Praises the Lord

I've had two delicious glasses of wine and I'm honestly ready for more.

Going to the wedding venue tomorrow, but we're paying them, so they can accept me hanging out my arse.
 
I’ve finished my glamorous coach journey but now stuck on a train back to Sheffield which is being diverted via HUDDERSFIELD for some bizarre reason, thus adding on an extra 45 minutes to the journey. I need wine.

I’ve just been for a big shop at Tesco and it was pretty busy. I was gonna have a glass of wine but I have a PT session at lunchtime tomorrow so I think I’ll just have an early night. God, I’m getting old.
 
Have the big supermarkets been open? I haven't ventured far, but just assumed it would only be corner shops amd the like open today.
 
The trading laws are different in Scotland. Easter Sunday is just another day here really.

Just as well. As it was I just walked to see my great nieces to give them their eggs, called in the corner shop and had a packet of cheese & onion Discos in the woods on the way home.

If I'd thought Tesco was open, I'd probably have been on the hunt for cheap eggs.
 
NOWHERE OF NOTE was open today on Oxford Street. I'd forgotten about the Easter Sunday (lack of) business. I was in a rare as hens' teeth mood for shopping, only to find John Lewis and even Boots COMPLÈTEMENT FERMÉS :argh:
 
Not even those ghastly American Candy Stores? How did everyone COPE?
 
I don't remember the last time I went to Oxford Street, other than for the purpose of the underground at Oxford Circus.

Oh for the days of doing all the music shops in the late 80s and 90s :(

Oh YES INDEED :(

I'd always rather go to Oxford Street than to those horrible closed-in places like Westfield which invariably trigger enraged bewilderment and the urge to punch people so are best avoided to prevent arrest :)
 
Is there an HMV again in central(ish) London yet?
 
I’m pleased to see the back of HMV tbh. There are only so many Led Zeppelin doormats you can buy and if I’m buying CDs I tend to get them on Juno or (if they’re not on Juno) Amazon. Foyles has a nice classical selection though
 
I didn't think the Stratford one had an HMV - or at least that's what I've been telling Mr L when we have scooted through there on the way to the Abba cartoon show.

I THINK the White City Westfield has one but I hate White City even more than Stratford because of the layout so avoid it at all costs and cannot be sure. Also there was an ugly incident in House of Fraser so I might not be welcomed back with open arms :disco:
 
The nicest HMV I've found is the one in Exeter. It's on two floors and all the sweets/cuddly toys etc are downstairs, I think with the DVDs. So upstairs is just music, and surprisingly large for what I'd expect for Exeter.

It’s the sweets and dead-eyed toys which killed it for me. And the doormats. NOT NECESSARY OR RELEVANT!
 
Also TRENDING signs above some Simply Red compilation on vinyl. Like Grandad’s running it and has ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA
 
Oh the huge HMV near Tottenham Court Road *weeps*

The one in town had a big BANNAR in the windows saying THREE VINLY ALBUMS FOR £55!1!!!

It wasn't so long ago (well actually it WAS) when I could pick up SEVEN FOR A POUND in FISH MUSIC in WOLVERTON
