Sunday Says Happy Birthday to Sharon

I’m really struggling at the moment. Think I might contact my GP as my head is all over the place and I can’t shift this cloud that has descended.

Please do contact them. I'm guessing it's harder when you're at home too. Sounds silly but do you have anything to do to free up your mind? I know I've mentioned it a bit, but this painting by numbers thing I'm doing is just so relaxing! Time just passes by.

That sounds good Star. I might see what’s available to order from Amazon.

I read books and play on my Switch, although I have to learn not to do that just before bed, which I did last night, as every time I closed my eyes, I was confronted with fast moving Mario Kart action.

Or have a look on ebay too! I bought a wasgij (look them up!) jigsaw too, although I've not had time to start that yet.

You could always join our pokemon club too :D That gives you something to do while you're out walking

I'll be honest, I've definitely had the blues the last few days. I'm just finding podcasts, new music and even some television to keep my mind occupied.

Awww Mary.

how about subscribing to some kind of online course that takes quite a bit of your time and energy? learning a new discipline? it could be something adjacent to your work or totally new like graphic design but it would have the dual benefit of occupying your mind and maybe becoming useful one day in the future.

or buy a book and drawing pencils and pens of all kinds and try art, if you don't do that already. it takes FOREVER to become good at drawing but you do see progress so that could work too.

or even try LEARNING A LANGUAGE on Duolingo (excellent and free) or Babbel if paying would help you commit.

Omg, I can draw one thing and that’s a baby! Even then, it ends up looking like a slug :D

But if I’m going to do anything, it’s learn how to draw. I was thinking paints, but maybe pencils would be a better place to start. Although I have a habit of chewing and eating pens and pencils so I’ll have to stop myself from doing that.

I’ve been a bit FLAT since New Year, I’ve decided to stay up north for two more weeks rather than go back to PLAGUE CITY, I’m starting to get SUPER BORED but don’t think it’d be much different in London tbh.

I also need to figure out my LIVING SITUATION, as I don’t think the situation with the PUNK SINGER is a long term solution. I’ve been offered by old flat back for a couple of months, but I get anxious not having something PERMANENT. I’m looking at flats I can afford by myself but they are either TINY or in WALTHAMSTOW and while easily affordable in PANDEMIC MODE where I don’t go out, would struggle to afford with my NORMAL LIFESTYLE.

I really am DONE with living with people though. I was a little spoiled having a large flat to myself for most of the year and don’t think I can go back to some HOUSESHARE.

If I am to move into my own place NOW is the time to do it as the prices have come down LOTS.

Should we arrange another virtual meet? People seemed to get a lot out of it last time.

If @Star isn't able to host it then perhaps we should just use the free one and restart every 40 minutes or whatever. It's a bit of a pain, but if it's helping people who are struggling that's nothing. And we know the start/middle of January is always a rough time, even if Christmas 2020 was unprecedented.

LUCY - get your own place if you can. I can’t wait until March when I am able to do the same again. I hate living with anyone else unless they are a partner.

Yeah I think I have to, I’d happily get a second job in a bar post pandemic (I did that most of my 20s when I was making shit money) if it makes it possible.

I used to strut my stuff behind the bar in EAGLE in Manchester wearing just a jockstrap (or other fetish gear)

I won the lottery last night! £30. I think only my second win since I started doing a direct debit so STILL SOME WAY TO GO. And I didn’t win the Premium Bonds this month either :(

In other news, just been for a lovely swim. So many more people in the sea than normal for this time of year. I guess it’s lockdown related.

I have a ticket with &1.90 on it which hardly seems worth the effort of cashing in, it doesn’t even buy you ANOTHER LOTTET TICKET.

:( Definitely contact the doctor. I hope you're ok.

Despite me no longer being a manager, I have spent the last 2 hours trying to sort out rota out because one of the team is now self isolating :(

And when I tell management that myself and the staff at branches are strigg because we have no support and are having to nurse as well as do reception, I get met with "we have no nurses, it'll change soon".

They have 7 fucking nurses at the hospital. And they leave us with none. So myself and the branch Receptionists are having to do Reception, hold for vets, deal with emergencies :(

Sorry, waded in and didn’t see the misery happening above.

YES to extra Moopy meets. I’m happy to write a quiz for us one night?

I’d also be happy to fund a Zoom subscription if that helps things too. No fannying around with constant restarting. Or find an alternative.

And go to your GP and also, people, do what you’re doing. TALK to people. On here or in real life.

And finally, if anyone wants to talk to a (semi) stranger, fuck it, let’s chat. I’m going to be alone all week again from tomorrow and I’ve FUCK ALL ELSE to do. Let’s share the gloom together and try to make it just a little more sparkly.

What does a Zoom subscription cost? Surely it's worth considering paying for a moopy one? Although not sure how it would work with passwords/logins.

Well I think if it's going to help protect the mental health of our members, that's money well spent. My concern if more how practical it would be with passwords.

Animal Crossing! DO IT! It saved my marriage

I've got this corporate account for free for another couple of months yet at least, they may well extend if the situation continues. So no point in paying at the moment. As I mentioned before all I need to do is log in and then I can hand over to someone else to host so it's not really too much trouble.

@Sheena yes please to the quiz! Let me know when it's ready and I'll organise the rest! It could even be done in small teams in breakout rooms

I can work something out. There’s quiz apps and stuff.

I guess let’s just pick a date and then we’re forced to get it ready for then.
