MORNING DEARS!

Washing machine’s up the spout, so come to a launderette and it’s got me wondering mostly whether it’s still a thing in Eastenders?

Also a big Sunday morning hello to the Indian lady who has just come in and painstakingly explained how to dry clean all her stuff, item by item, to the exasperated and confused woman behind the till, only to hand over a load of items with Asda George and Sainsbury’s F&F labels :disco:
 
Sometimes I miss the days of going out to do laundry because you can do it all at once instead of load by load at home

Then I remember I hate people
 
There was some new laundry thing linked to our Morrisons we noticed yesterday! Makes sense, put your washing on, go do your shopping then pick it up!
 
Fuck going to a launderette at £13.50 a wash!
 
I've always had a mild obsession with the asthetic of laundrettes

Was it outside? We’ve got something like that by our local Morrisons.
 
I used launderettes loads while we were travelling earlier this year. I loved it. Pop the washing in, go for a coffee, read, go collect.

Hong Kong has the best launderettes. For future reference.
 
Using a launderette on a cruise ship sucks. Because old people separate every. Single. Item of clothing.

One man used 4 different machines at once, each one had about 4 items in it 🤦🏻‍♀️
 
Mopsy is very quiet today. I’m planning on spending it entirely by the pool today so y’all better entertain me
 
I had to use a laundrette when our last machine died on us, but I just hate the thought of washing my clothes in a machine someone might have used for their horse and dog blankets right before me (which is what they're mainly used for around here).
 
I’m sat outside Costco waiting for it to open. I predict they won’t have what I want in stock and the fuckers never pick up the phone to answer stock queries.
 
I am going out on the bike because its glorious and not a million degrees and also because i’ve eaten a fuck ton all weekend
 
Tried to steer my friend away from our agreed Edinburgh excursion to a Glasgow gallivant. I think I've failed and the capital it is. Maybe I can persuade him to find somewhere to explore in a less city-centre-centric area as there are admittedly some ultra beautiful spots.
 
I'm feeling rather more normal today after some rather anxiety-stricken days. So the bins are out, the food shopping is done, the washing is in the machine (not rubbing it in, honest) and Ween are on the hi-fi. Nice.
 
I've had to use launderettes both here and Brighton. It's a hassle, but it's kind of a retro experience too and fine while washing machines get fixed.

Agree that the aesthetic is notable. Every laundrette gives me 1985 vibes. I feel like their was laundrette next to the Take on Me cafe, with it's Drink Milk sticker.
 
Depending on how nuts the weather is in Japan next week I may indeed have to launder onboard as there are only so many items I want to pack.
 
I have the FLU and nowt to do, hence why I'm on moopy (catching up since the last time I logged in to check on the ann widdecombe drama)
 
On the train back from London. I love a Seat Frog upgrade, but hate the person in turns me into when it comes to judging other people who dare enter the first class carriage.

First Class First Class or Weekend Premium Economy?

Or at least I think so, as I have no idea what Weekend Premium Economy is.
 
I have never used seat frog and now I feel like an idiot. All the train journeys I do across the country! Will be using that next time
 
It's not as good (i.e cheap) as it once was, probably due to a lot more people knowing about it.

But if you feel like treating yourself, it's usually much cheaper than booking first class originally. When we go to London I often travel up standard, but then get an upgrade for the return journey. So you get to wait in the lovely first class lounge (and raid the refreshments and nibbles), instead of joining the horrid scrum on the concourse. Plus of course (on GWR, at least) first class travel is just much more pleasant.
 
I'd not even heard of it! You'd know Premium Economy - it's First Class carriage but with a little removable flap draped over the seat to say Premium Economy. Essentially just the seat without any of the food or drink.

Fairly sure they don't have it on any of the GWR or CrossCountry (spits) routes here.
 
Standard Premium! Ghastly invention, come back Virgin. Mind you at least there is proper First Class at weekends now, even if there are only about five seats in the kitchen carriage/staff hangout at the weekends.
