And yes, the "I'd be a disappointment to you every day" lyric makes it clear Pricie was unwittingly paying homage with her own classic:

5 are new songs with Mike Stock. I think the remaining 6 originals are re-records, and, if so, I do hope the originals get officially released too.
 
For the longest time I was convinced the release of this album was a fantasy of wicked Mike Stock and poor Suzette and it would only be heard of on the SAW podcast and eternally in the coming soon section of the @ManicKangaroo release schedule. Fair play for actually getting it out there.

I am sure they said on the podcast, when it was discussed previously, that half the album was re-records. I do doubt how well Stock can recreate the sound of classic SAW, or even SW, but if the rest of the material is in the vein of Free To Love Again then they may make a decent go of it.
 
I discovered Free To Love Again a few years back & it's great in a Sybil When I'm Good & Ready kinda way. The couple of other songs I've heard from that era didn't really live up to the aforementioned song.
 
I don't really know who she is, but she seemed very nice on the SAW podcast this week (though next to Mike Stock, I suspect anyone would!)

Happy for anyone to be randomly releasing a SAW-style record in the year of our lord 2026!
 
There's a touch of Dina Carroll, a hard splash of SAW and a lot of this charmingly camp version of Sometimes When We Touch.



I honestly think this was the blueprint for UK Eurovision in the 00s.
 
Totally drenched in that Sybil era sound we lost. I read a 4 star review and chuckled in cynical disbelief, but I would award it that grade myself. A sturdy 3 at the very least, but the aesthetic is executed from start to finish and almost all have those chic house beats I can't get enough of.

The release of the album is a nice story and Whenever You're Around has really grown on me.

That's backing track is a total rip off of Dina Carroll's Ain't No Man lol.
 
Thematically it might be very old man Mike Stock shakes fist at clouds but We Lost The Beat really is an insistent bop.
 
This might honestly be my Album Of The Year! :D / :disco:

It truly is a fantastic piece of work, and the new tracks stand up well to the 1993 ones - the re-records sound almost IDENTICAL to the original versions. At first I was disappointed that they didn't use the original versions but I am totally on board now, as although her voice is similar than it was in 1993, it is more mature.

They also released the original video for Free To Love Again last week, which had never been online before, and I had never seen. :disco:
