Taylor Swift - Midnights (new album out Oct. 21)

imagine 33 being a soppy take on the anxieties of nearing your mid-thirties. i want it.

dying at this stunningly chaotic Swift / Ora interaction

Drake is such a sour loser.

throwback to when Cardi knocked LWYMMD from #1 and Taylor did this. :shy:

There were always people who were going to try and flip pre-sale tickets to anxious fans but that is a complete joke.

i am convinced that Bigger Than The Whole Sky is about a miscarriage and that knowledge has made it unbearable to listen to, like Ariana's ghostin' :(

I never considered that. oh shit. it was already basically the best song on Midnights but that extra layer of meaning might've made it transcendent

It doesn't really make sense as being about anything else. It's a really sad song, but very moving. Put it on a playlist with Ronan and Forever Winter if you want to UGLY CRY :(

General ticket sale cancelled because Ticketmaster's systems aren't up to it! That's wild.

I’m so glad the Justice department have sorted out all that racial violence and murder by police officers, just in time to avenge the Swiffers swiftly

at the AMAs last night accepting favourite pop album (for what? not sure / irrelevant)

she really will show up to the opening of an envelope these days. the promo hustle is real.

the hair is giving Speak Now my PUSSY is SHIVERING!! Better Than Revenge > Enchanted > some of your faves' ACTUAL careers. i am FERAL to be experiencing her older albums as new. Fearless was meh before but her mature vocals made me fall in love. like how did no one ever tell me that Forever and Always and Hey Stephen are 100s. the re-recordings are the best thing that could have happened to her post-reputation stans. and let me not begin on the Vault tracks. she's quite simply the most genius recording artist in history. eviscerate the competition, music industry.

she looks at life like it's a party and she's on the list
she looks at me like I'm a trend and she's so over it
i think her ever present frown is a little troubling
and she thinks I'm psycho 'cause I like to rhyme her name with things
but sophistication isn't what you wear, or who you know
or pushing people down to get you where you wanna go
oh they didn't teach you that in prep school so it's up to me
but no amount of vintage dresses gives you dignity

With sadness, I have to call time on me trying to get into this album. I've kept 4 tracks in the end:
Lavender Haze (I guess I like this, it feels a bit from the "Oh Ariana doesn't make bops anymore"
Anti-Hero (The best track, and the most 1989 she's sounded for a while)
Bejeweled (I'm honestly on the fence about keeping this too)
Mastermind (I like this, feels like a Carly Rae Jepsen track too)

Otherwise I find the production a little nondescript, and she's vocally the most check-out I've heard her. And she keeps making me cringe when she swears - you're not that woman and that's totally fine.

I'm surprised to say I preferred Evermore to this

i'm an evermore girlie and High Infidelity just clicked and has me floored :o

you know there's many ways that you can kill the one you love
the slowest way is never loving them enough

her so-this-is-why-i'm-cheating tracks are on a whole other level. first ivy - and now this. they give me an urge to cheat on poor Mr. joanne.
