I nearly bought a Stereolab tea towel but I realised I wouldn't want to use it to dry the dishes because it was cool and a tenner and had Stereolab on it. At which stage, there is absolutely no point in having the thing.

Actually sorted for coasters. My favourite is a Perez Prado album cover, which is pleasingly niche.

One thing I would really recommend is getting household items with your own face on it. The HerSerene couch cushion is my favourite, and the Suomi spatula never fails to make me smile.

We never dry dishes.

I do have a variety of oven gloves though. Most of them shit because Mr L seems to enjoy buying them in sales, despite the fact that he very rarely cooks, and has no idea if they are any good or not - and they invariably aren't.

Is tea towel just a misleading name for a kitchen towel or does it have an actual association/use with tea?

I think kitchen towel to most (?) Brits would suggest a paper disposable towel on a roll. Why they are called tea towels though I don't know - other than to separate them from body/bath towels and the like.
